However, sources close to the Irishman say he’s in good health and willing to challenge Alvarez at UFC 205.

According to the latest report from Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, Dana White says McGregor’s foot is hurt and wants him to rematch Jose Aldo at featherweight.

“Conor’s foot is hurt, but he thinks he can fight,” White said. “I want him to fight Aldo.”

This is the fight that needs to happen. Conor needs to finish Aldo off once and for all.

Its rather hard for any fighter however popular to have leverage over a guy with 500 million in the bank. Favouritism and unfairness is always toxic and wrong. Now Dana white realises his mistake in creating this arrogant tool in McGregor who thinks he runs the show and has basically had enough of his shit and the disharmony and grievance and all the other fighters on the roster, this favouritism has caused. And I applaud him.

Aldo may want to just wrestle McGregor if he gets the chance. Aldo doesn't have great punching power, stamina or elusiveness. I still think he is a great striker but not on McGregor's level. If Aldo starts throwing leg kicks he is going to get countered with a left hand and then put to sleep.

I'm interested in the entire "hurt" angle. Dana KEEPS claiming Conor McGregor is hurt and can't fish, while Conor is replying "No I'm not, give me the champion at Lightweight". Maybe it's Conor just being a badass and thinking he can still beat Alvarez with one leg...but is there any chance Dana's talking shit? While he's prone to bending the truth, this would be a straight up lie in Conor's face.

EDIT: Fishing is a demanding sport.

At the time, I don't feel Aldo deserved a rematch. While guys like Anderson got one, there weren't Max Holloways (8 fight win streak) or Frankie Edgars (5 fight win streak) at the time. Aldo was second fiddle to them I believe. Now Holloway has beat yet another top ranked guy, and Aldo has beat Edgar. Aldo gets the next shot by proxy just because he's the interim, but Holloway on a 9 fight win streak beating Ricardo Lamas, Jeremy Stephens. Cub Swanson and Charles Oliveira is imo the greatest streak anyone in UFC has ever had without a title shot coming at the end of it (Maia would be there too on his current streak).

It took Jon Fitch 8 fights to get a shot, 16 win streak in total, but the level of competition wasn't quite what Max's currently is.

Conor will fight Alvarez. There will be no Aldo fight. The only other possibility PCP or GPRS or whatever you call him. No one really wants to see the Aldo fight again. Titles don't matter, least of all the FW title now that Frankie showed he couldn't cut the mustard. If titles and not cash mattered Bisping would not be fighting Hendo in a few weeks.
Either way the best thing about this MSG card is The Soldier of God is actually going to send Weidman through the canvas. The floor will open up, the pits of hell will be seen for the first time, and Weidman will disappear down there forever for drinking from Longos poisoned phallus, oops i mean chalice

Hey buddy, take the cotton wool balls out your cheeks, sounds like you trying to do an impression of the Godfather. Inspired by McGregor do you live your entire life in a cloud of bullshit. "No one really wants to see the Aldo fight again", are you kidding me.

If belts don't matter why does McGregor carry his like some toddler that won't be parted from their stinky cuddly toy.

It's very convenient, score the luckiest of lucky flash knockouts of a 10 year champion and then do everything in your power to avoid fighting him again.

It's like a competitor at a pistol shooting competition scoring a perfect bull's-eye with their first shot and then throwing down their gun, refusing to take a second shot but announcing the going to take up archery or javelin throwing as they are carried aloft by half witted fans.

If his punch was so legendary, why wasn't he able to land it on Nate Diaz?
