i don't hate chuck, i just tell it as i see it. I believe several months back (when rampage was just coming into UFC) i posted about this so this will probably just be a rehash of that. Chuck is one dimensional in his game plan, it is always exactly the same no matter who he's fighting against and that is sprawl and brawl. if you can out strike him you can win, just have to avoid getting clocked by the big punch, or have a good enough chin to absorb it.

Getting one good punch on the button is FAR from being manhandled. Yeah, Jardine did beat him at his own game and I'm not saying he should or shouldn't retire but you can't take away from how good he is and was. I think he still has a couple of years left in him. He is still a great fighter that is NOT one dimensional.

well...as a whole no chuck isnt one dimensional but his offense is VERY one dimensional i mean have you ever seen him go for a takedown??? no. he is a standup fighter with great takedown DEFENSE...i think chuck is a great fighter too but i dont think he can keep up with the new fighters right now...shogun, forrest, jardine, rampage, alexander, etc.

it is?? rampage punched chuck in the face causing chuck to fall to the ground then rampage proceeded to clobbering his face in on the ground and getting the stoppage...i call that being manhandled...whether you think it was a lucky shot to cause him fall or not..thats a whole different debate.

I wasn't calling it a lucky shot at all. He won fair and square but Chuck didn't get manhandled.

I don't think being considered multi-dimensional is based on how many ways you can keep yourself from losing a fight. I've always thought of it as how many ways you can win a fight. In the last 4 years or so, Chuck has won fights because of his right hand and his... right hand. That seems pretty one-dimensional to me. Shit, even Cro Cop has a lhk AND a left cross, and people call him one-dimensional. I don't know if I'm in the wrong in what I consider multi-dimensional, but it seems pretty clear to me that Chuck does not fit in that category.

I don't know if you read the thread, but I said I think chuck is done. That isn't the debate here. I just think that it is shitty to sit thier and bash the legacy of a legend. He was a great fighter and he will always be considered one of the best. He's past his prime now, that's obvious. And I agree, rampage destroyed him very quickly.

I just hate the people on here saying he never was a great fighter or that he was fed cans. He fought the best the MMA world had to offer at the time and he dominated them. There is no doubt in my mind that he was a great chamion, I just wish other people could remember what they thought of him ten seconds before rampage landed that punch. He was looked at as a good, people asked who would be able to stop him, and the only mentioned threat (Wandelei) was becoming an underdog because of his losses.

People forget great fights (many great fights) very easily after a few bad ones. And I think that seeing how people act when a fighter is down proves weather or not they are true fans.

You could say that if he fought Wanderlei, Arona and lil Nog, oh yeah and Henderson. Let's not exaggerate here. ;p

Fav. Fighters
Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva
Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira
Ken "You got kicked. By a kick." Shamrock

WAR The CroCop!

I dont know if he'll ever be champ agian. Would I totally count him out? No way.

TO bash a guy that carrer wins are some of the best ever. Not to mention he's beaten the best the sport has had to offer.
