The most technical skilled division in the UFC

Many say theat the lightweight division is the most technical.

In boxing it is wellknown that generallyspeaking the lighter the fighters, the more techique they posses.

do you think this is equally true for the lightweight division in the UFC or does the title for being the most techincal division belong to another division?

Fun trivia: In danish "kamp" means "match" or "fight". So Martin Kampmann really lives up to his name.

Imo the answer is the lightweight or the welterweight division.

The least imo is the ehavyweight eventhough is has been improved lately but for some time it was ruled by a guy who relied on his enormous size, reach and weight...

Lightweight. Their ground work and transitions are just crazy slick. Also the LW division possesses some damn good strikers too.

Welterweight.. Just look at the guys fighting there:
GSP, HUGHES, KARO, FITCH, etc.. These guys have a plan and they execute(except maybe Karo, but his judo is amazing and techincal).

Most lightweight fights we have seen have been quite exciting, but for the most part, they are brawls and everyone is swinging for the fences.

The welterweight division is stacked with talent so yeah there are a lot of good technically sound welterweight fighters.

I assume no one think the heavyweight division is the most technically skilled in spite of Fedor

I'd go with the Welterweight division. Though the reason is probably because of the high calibre of talent competing in it (GSP, Hughes, Karo, Fitch, Koscheck, Sanchez, I could go on forever)

ill with polar opposites

lw and hw

lw for there quick transitions and furry strikes.....that have to land in the right place

and hw.....although there is often that one hit that does it....alot of the hw are well trained in bjj, sambo, and of course greco roman....all these sports or martial arts....require a technical mind in order to exectute properly

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

I would say that while the LW divison is fast and they make sick transitions they aren't exactly technically skilled.

They make very quick transitions but their submission attempts are often very sloppy. Also their stand up is very sloppy they usually spend the fight punching each other in the face since neither guy can KO the other.

Honestly while they make alot of submission attempts they don't make a lot of good submission attempts (which is one of the reasons they don't finish each other.
