Tim Sylvia Trains with Xtreme Couture for Vera

The Maine-iac Visits Xtreme Couture MMA

this will be a good one...

Big Tim Sylvia spent the past two days training at Xtreme Couture. Turns out Tim is somewhat of a fashion plate. Hes been in town for the Magic Show (where new clothing lines are debuted for buyers). Tims got some cool shirts coming out this Fall.

Hes also good buddies with Mike Whitehead and spent the past two days training with our Pro Team. Tims next fight is against Brandon Vera at UFC 77 on October 20th.

My fave fighters:

HW: Couture
LHW: Jones, Lidell
MW: The Spider
WW: Jon Fitch Matt Hughes Carlos Condit
LW: Anthony Pettis
Bantamweight: Dominick Cruz
And
IRON MIKE ZAMBIDIS.

Tim is the much better fighter on paper but this is MMA and anything can happen.

I hope to see a really aggressive Sylvia, keeping pressure on (which is what Couture seems to do well).

But I'd really like to see what Vera can bring as well. There's so many questions regarding his abilities.

I agree, Sylvia is exciting when he is aggressive and if he is it will be a great match.

Well I hope Tim brings it instead of Push into the cage, throw a punch, push into cage, throw a punch. Just a way to win and not finish

I think that this is a very good thing. Sylvia is a great fighter when he wants to be and with Couture coaghing him, I honestly believe that he'll be in there to take Vera apart.

I don't see Vera making out of the 2nd round in this one. Sylvia is a monster when he wants to be and I think he's getting back on that track with this fight.

I would have went with Vera for sure, but for a guy like Tim to train with the guy (Couture) who criticized him and then beat him up for 5 rounds, that means Sylvia is really focused and wants this. The Couture camp is great and has produce some great so-called upsets (Griffin over Rua).

This is a really tough choice now. I think the best Tim Sylvia can beat the best Brandon Vera, but it depends on which Sylvia shows up.
