Franklin is taking Rocky 4 approach

The reason noone heard anything from Rich, is because dude completley isolated himself.

Rich:
"I’ve obviously never had this kind of exposure locally. This is insane. As for the sport, I don’t know. I think this is one of those fights that could possibly make me a hall of famer or not within the UFC.”

Franklin set up camp at an undisclosed Western location. His travelling party includes three coaches and three training companions, including Jorge Gurgel, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who has been alongside Franklin throughout his career."

I can just see him battling it out with Silva and pulling a unanimous decision (all beat up and bloody) and they play the theme song from Rocky

I can dream rite?

"There something behind the throne, greater than the king himself."

Sounds good. I love to hear when fighters train like this. All they do is train, eat and sleep, leaving the promo and all the associated crap to everyone else. Shows that they are very serious, motivated and determined about what they do. Hope it goes well for him, even if he doesn't beat Silva he'll know he gave himself the best opportunity he could.

PS - Rocky 4 soundtrack does in fact own.

I just watched UFC 64 again, and to be honest Rich was hanging in there for the first minute of the fight. He even land a shot that made Silva shake the cobwebs off his head and take pause for a second. Then the clinch came, Rich was throwing knees which were a few inches too low to connect on Anderson's chin. I was asking myself why he didn't throw enough uppercuts since the clinch left Silva open.

For him to regain the belt after the egg-beating he took is just another one of those special mma moments.

This is one of those fights where the winner is welcomed either way for me, just kinda hoping Franklin doesn't go out in embarrassment if he loses is all I ask.

Awesome to hear Franklin is taking this very seriously, as I have said he has a good chance and everyone is just writing him off which is foolish. As someone above mentioned, up until the clinch I remember Franklin easily holding his own against Silva in the stand-up. If he can move in and out of range while landing a few shots he can definately win by decision especially considering how Franklin would have the cardio edge in this fight. WAR FRANKLIN!!

I like Rich, he's a good guy. This whole going off into exile and training like he's never trained before is great and all, but do you think Anderson Silva isn't training hard either? And, Anderson Silva doesn't have all the pressure on him...Rich does. I see the whole situation working against Franklin.

Not true, watch the fight again. If you think that shook Anderson you are very wrong.

This is called feelign each other out! not holding your own. The fight had not even started yet. When the fight did start we saw how it ended.

Now dont get me wrong.....I think Franklin has a chance! I just hate to see people change the outcome of the original fight. He lost, and badly. One of the MOST one sided title shot fights i have ever seen.

I wonder how loud it is going to be in there either way with the cheers if Franklin wins and the boos if Silva wins. If Franklin loses they are going to have to beg Henderson to go down to MW so they can have a contender.
