Anybody rooting for Tim Sylvia?
I'm not the biggest Tim Sylvia fan but if he won I wouldn't be that upset about it! A lot of people were giving Sylvia flak because he gotten too cautious in his fight. Even I talk about how he gotten too cautious in his fight (using the Monson fight as an example) but a lot of other people were saying far worse things like "oh he's an ugly ogre who uses his height as an advantage." I think a lot of those people went to sherdog where the other creepy fanboys hang out! But it really seems like he didn't have any more fans left in the world?
But anyways, I was wondering if there are any Tim Sylvia fans who out there or people who respect him as a fighter that will be rooting for him at UFC 77?

I'm actually picking Vera to win. I don't know, I just can't really rely on the old Tim anymore, and have to go with a guy who could chop him down.
However, I'm rooting for Big Tim, since a lot of people hate the guy and treat him like shit. Tim Sylvia is a really good fighter. He's also a tough match-up for any HW out there. He uses his reach well, has good striking, is huge, and has a good ground game. If he comes angry, then Vera could be seeing stars.
So yeah, I want my Telligman head kicking Big Tim back, and I hope he shows up.

I'm somewhat of a Tim Sylvia fan, I'll be routing for him against Vera.
I dunno, theres just something that makes me bothered by Vera, probably his fans. He has the skill set to be a great fighter but he hasn't beaten anyone of value yet. I'm hoping Sylvia exposes him and goes back to his old ways.

I have Vera to win this fight. To be honest either guy could win this fight. But depending on what Sylvia's mindset is coming into this fight will make the difference. If he comes back angry and determined, Vera is going to be in BIG trouble.

I don't know if anyone remembers, but I made a Tim Sylvia appreciation topic (which was soon destroyed by pants pooping comments).
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Tim Sylvia is like the murderously violent gorilla in Warner Brothers cartoons that is repressed and calmed by the soothing sound of the violin (in Tim's case the HW belt). Once that violin (or belt) is taken from said enormous beast, all hell breaks loose.
Unless Brandon Vera has undergone radical improvements since his contract dispute-related hiatus, I'm sticking with Tim Sylvia.

I'm picking Big Tim to win this fight. I could see it going either way, but I give Tim the edge for a couple of reasons. The first bieng that Tim has faced off against top competition where Vera has not. Vera has also been inactive for over a year now. Tim Sylvia is a bad matchup stylisticly for anyone due to his size and he is a really good fighter despite what alot of people think.
This is a very interesting fight to me because if Vera wins he will elevate himself near the top of the HW ladder and possibly line himself up for a title fight in the near future. Sylvia is Brandon Vera's first real test. Tim needs this win badly, because a loss to Vera will hurt his chances of getting another crack at his title.
I think the loser of this fight should go against CroCop, either way that will make for a good fight. I have always liked Big Tim and I hope he returns to his old form, I'm one of the few people that actually enjoyed Sylvia/Monson, I thought it was crazy watching Big Tim go to the ground with Monson and actually hold his own. I was very surprised by Sylvias ground game against a champion grappler.
My money is on Sylvia.
