Win or lose I think Rich is going to be sticking around in the UFC MW division. It's a bit premature for predicting his demise just cause he lost one fight. Silva is a great fighter and difficult to beat, but he certainly isn't indestructible. I think Franklin has a decent chance of winning, you just can't count out a fighter of his caliber (I'd say definitely top 5). Even if he doesn't win, he'll probably continue with the wins until he gets another shot (just like Tito).

I would love to see Franklin's contract transitioned to the WEC and he take on Paulo Filho for the WEC Middleweight Championship. Of course with all the internet speculation that Filho was put in the WEC to avoid Franklin, it could really be a dream match up and could also bring tons of UFC fans over to the WEC to see Franklin fight.
Isn't Filho training partners with Silva?? If so that could be spun into quite the backstory for the fight. Franklin loses to Silva and then goes to the WEC to challenge one of Silva's undefeated training partners.

Dana is crazy because he gives losers like Rich Clementi (spelling) so many chances but if you're the number 2 ranked fighter if you lose twice you're done??? That's just crazy talk.
He's quick to boot the top fighters who lose but is willing to keep the bottom feeding trolls around.
Guess it has to do with how much it costs the UFC to keep top flight competition and pay them the purses they deserve if they aren't constantly winning.

Come on, Rich Clementi isn't that bad.

Silva & Filho are good friends, and Filho said that he doesn't want to fight him, but if he had to, he would.

Losing weight is a piece of cake (no pun intended) if you decide to do it. The hard part is deciding to lose all that hard earned muscle to drop a weight class, now that sucks.

Don't confuse Dana White the hype man with Dana White the business man.
White is just trying to add more drama to the fight. He wants the audience to see the first fight as Rocky Vs. Clubber Lang I and the rematch as, well, the rematch.

Well I understand why Rich's career might be in trobule. Imagine if Rich loses and keeps fighting in the UFC, he could be all the UFC's top contenders but never be able too win the title. Really I would feel bad if Rich was cut for losing to the Best MW in the world twice.

nah, I meant that Franklin could be put in the WEC for awhile to bring a big name to the promotion. It would be a good backstory for him to fight a training partner of Silva's for the WEC title.

I find it funny that Dana is so worried for him that he gave him the home town advantage.

Ah, my bad, yeah, they're friends and it would make for an interesting back story. In fact, I think Rich would have a good chance against Filho. Franklin has the edge stand-up wise and is pretty good on the ground, not to mention strong. Filho looked really, really slow in his last fight, too. Franklin would also have the edge cardio wise.
Then again, I don't expect Franklin in the WEC anytime soon.
