Michael Bisping Discusses Why He's Fighting Rashad Evans
Excuse me if this has been posted,
thought u guys might be interested

“After the whole incident with Hamill I wanted to get back in the Octagon as soon as possible,” says Bisping. “Unfortunately knee surgery took a rematch with Hamill out of the equation, but the UFC approached me with an offer to fight Evans instead. I’m very excited about the fight. Evans has proven himself, his wrestling is excellent of course, but his striking is up there too - he’s finishing fights now.”

There’s some sacrifice involved with fighting Rashad,” said Bisping. “I wont be able to fight on the upcoming [UFC] UK shows, but right now I just want to get back in there. I know some people didn’t like what they saw. MMA fans, especially Internet MMA fans, are fickle; they jump from one fighter to the next and this is my chance to prove myself again.”

I won’t lie, initially their wrestling worried me,” says Bisping. “Ever since ‘TUF’ I've realized it's what I've needed to work on and I've been doing it.

Wow, Bisping really pays attention to the "internet fans" which is cool but 5. something million tuned in to his last fight and ugh...how many people are internet fans...such as myself who is happy to be one and yeah, we know more about the sport then most of the 5 mil and pardon us if we are critical. I called it before the fight that Hamill was going to give him trouble but whatever. Bisping shouldn't be written off in this fight by any means. Rashad can wrestle and strike well. So can Matt Hamill. Hamill does it with a little less timidness then Rashad, I think Bisping will take advantage of the fact that Rashad is hesitant. This is going to be a good match.

The more I think about this matchup the more I like it, both these fighters could use a win to stay relevent in what is now a stacked LHW division.
Personally I think Rashad who is an excellent wrestler with superior standup to Hammill should win this one easily, but I have a feeling this will be a good fight.
Bisping needs this fight badly so I think he will lay it on the line but I think he really needs to move down to MW win or lose.

Excellent point, I'm just not sure how easy a drop it would be for him, but he would do very well at MW if he could make weight.

How is Bisping going to win this fight?
Rashad has great wrestling, good striking, and can avoid subs.
Bisping has decent striking, awful wrestling, and has a decent ground game.
Rashad will just overwhelm the guy.

My prediction is kimora. He looks for it a lot and I think he might pull it off against Rashad.
Flame me if I'm wrong, but rep me when it happens
