2 ways Vera will win this:

1. The tentative Sylvia shows up.
2. Vera comes in with a near perfect game plan, throwin low leg kicks and then some quick combos and keepin out of distance from Sylvia's ridiculously long arms. This however is very difficult to execute, we will truely find out how good Vera is in this fight.

I think Vera has a big disadvantage when it comes to size. The reach advantage Sylvia has against Vera will prove frustrating for Vera and could win Sylvia the fight. However I still see Vera coming into this fight with a great game plan and knocking Sylvia out by the 2nd round.

I think hes a better technical striker than Tim and is alos quicker. It depends on if Tim can get a good shot on Verra. If the old Tim shows up, who knows

A healthy, motivated Tim Sylvia is scary. Too bad we don't get to see much of him lately. This fight will answer a lot of questions for us, I can't wait to see it.

Tim is not too big for Vera. Vera is amazingly strong for his size, give credit to that to his wrestling background if you want. Vera is accurate and deadly with his strikes. Just look at his kicks to the sides of Mir, those things punish and he doesn't land just 1. Vera has wicked long legs and isn't afraid to use them.

Tim on the otherhand has very heavy hands, but they are not that accurate and usually he jabs his opponent away and then goes for the bomb. That won't work against Vera because Vera's legs are almost as long as Tim's arms, so Tim will not have a safe zone. A lot of people like to use the Monson fight as proof that Sylvia has a ground game, it doesn't. What it proves is that 5'10 vs 6'8 even matters on the ground. If Monson had been 4-5 inches taller he would have GnP'ed Syliva till he got KO'ed or tap, but every time he postured up Tim would streth out and the distance was just too much. Monson had to try to go for subs and it was next to impossible to keep Sylvia from using his momentum due to the sheer size difference.

Sylvia does not have any decent ground game. If it goes to the ground then Vera will make Sylvia look silly. If the fight stays standing then we have a very interesting fight between a knock out artist, and a knock out artist with style. I give Sylvia the heavier hands and he could win this match with a single punch, but I give it to Vera as I think he can handle Sylvia's reach and if Sylvia gets desperate and takes it to the ground then he will be in serious trouble.

randy was able to strike with tim without the size advantage making much of a difference, they are exactly the same size.

not saying just because randy could that means vera can but vera is a better striker than randy so i think there is a pretty good chance vera will have success.

if it goes to the ground i am not sure what will happen, i doubt that will happen though.

It's because people don't Tim so they say he is unskilled etc.

It's like saying Fedor has no skill and he is a really boring fighter but that statement would be purely based on a bias opinion.

I saw Tim's fights with Arlovski and i was like "Wow, He is really boring in these fights" but then i watched more of him in some earlier fights like his one with Tra Tellingman and i was like "That guy is a beast", It proves alot of people don't watch enough MMA to make a proper statement. Just remember some fans wouldn't even know if there was anything MMA outside the UFC and some wouldn't even know of MMA just UFC.

Tim is a very skilled and tough fighter, I see him winning this one 7.5/10 but Vera still has that 2.5 IMO. If it goes to a decision i think Sylvia takes it and even if a fired Tim comes i still think it will end in a decision just a more exciting fight but i think Vera will have ti submit Sylvia and Sylvia isn't the greatest on the ground but he held his own with Jeff Monson and Vera may get KOed in this fight with Sylvia.
