Do you think that the UFC

should have one HUGE PPV a year? Like a Super-Bowl'ish PPV for MMA? I think it would be great if they had just one huge PPV a year where you knew there would be amazing fighters for sure. They could make as many title fights as possible and get huge names to fight. I think it could be really great for the UFC if they did that, your thoughts?

IT'd be great, but how to schedual such a thing?

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

^^^Exactly^^^^ The problem with sceduling it would be it would lead to 4 shitty PPV's as the fighters are only allowed to fight every couple months and a "Super Bowl" would require keeping the top fighters off of the two previous months cards and the two following, which leads to four really poor buyrates and a really poor buildup.

I think they could figure it out.
You just need an official ladder system so you can insure proper sceduling and the right fighters each time.
For example

January-March PPV's
# 1 contendership battles
Big Nog vs Kongo
Jardine vs Forrest # 2
Okami vs McDonald
GSP vs Hughes 3
Joe Stevenson vs BJ Penn
You could have these type of fights - plus the people who are totally out of contention currently who are working their ways up on Undercards/First fights of maincards etc.

April - July PPVs
(1 fight out of # 1 contendership battles)(To fight at next years Jan - mar PPV's)
So you have the top 3 - 5ish fighters in each division fight...
If we have the current champs and we started fresh Jan we could have a PPV's like

Arlovski vs Herring
Shogun vs Ortiz
Leben vs Okami
Swick vs Karo
Heurta vs Guida
All these fights (and there would be enough other fighters to fill 3ish PPV's in the early times to show whos up and coming.

August - October PPV's
We have enough tallent to fill and keep some of the up and comers busy trying to pad their records etc. Could have a cool WEC vs UFC mini event or something where the # 1 or 2 contenders duke it out for bragging rights (and might show some wicked WEC talent (like Filo).

HW champ fight
LHW champ fight
MW champ fight
WW champ fight
LW champ fight
Wandy vs Liddell
Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock in a retirement match
other dream matches
Get all fights for the superbowl for 50 bucks instead of 40 bucks. Pride styles!

just a thought...

"I take pride in accomplishing the impossible"

Favourite Fighters *No Order Given*

George St. Pierre
Wanderlei Silva
Anderson Silva
Royce Gracie
Fedor Emelianenko
Mirko Filipovic
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
Quinton Rampage Jackson

But the nature of the sport lends itself to injuries that would throw a wrentch into there plans and besides the titles would barely be defended, its a great theory but it just wouldnt work.

On a side note a Gracie/Shamrock "Retirement" match sounds to much like a WWE gimmick and when one of them showed up on another companies event it would just further tarnish the UFC reputation.
