UFC 77 Weigh-Ins Set for Oct. 19, Airing on Yahoo! Sports

Weigh-ins for next weekend’s UFC 77 event will take place Friday, Oct. 19 at U.S. Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati. Doors open at 3 p.m. ET, and the first fighter is expected to hit the scale at approximately 4 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

Additionally, the weigh-ins will be streamed live online at UFC.com, MMAjunkie.com partner site Yahoo! Sports, and other online outlets. Head over to UFC.com for all of the details.

The following day’s pay-per-view show features Cincinnati native and former champ Rich Franklin vs. current middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Back in October 2006, Silva scored an impressive first-round TKO over the former champ.

In addition to Franklin vs. Silva II, heavyweights Tim Sylvia and Brandon Vera will compete on the televised main card. Stephan Bonnar vs. Eric Schafer, and Alan Belcher vs. Kalib Starnes also are scheduled for TV time. (Oddly, a pivotal middleweight bout between Yushin Okami and Jason MacDonald has been relegated to the un-televised preliminary card.)

We’ll be reporting live from the UFC 77 weigh-ins and from Saturday’s pay-per-view event. Stay tuned to MMAjunkie.com (and the Dayton Daily News) for all the latest UFC 77 news and notes.

Additionally, MMAjunkie.com has teamed up with American Fighter for a series of pre-UFC 77 parties, including a Friday night star-studded blowout. All MMAjunkie.com readers are invited. Stay tuned for all the details.
