October 2017?

That more or less finishes his career as a top level fighter.

If you don't read the papers you're uninformed. If you do read the papers you're misinformed.

I already considered him finished as a top fighter.

But yeah, between USDA suspensions, fighters like Phil Rory and Sonnen leaving in FA and soon to be Bader, draws getting so old, no talent coming up......UFC is in trouble unless they keep getting Conor to fight 3 times a year for 2 or 3 more years. But I have my doubts on how long he will stay in the game.

They could all start a parallel organisation the GFC (geriatric fighting Championships) or simply clone McGregor

205 is thin enough he could be a win away from a title fight.

Machida hasn't been the same since the second Shogun fight. Still a good fighter, but wins about as much as he loses.

The time a fighter stays at the top is a mere fraction to what it took to get there and the drop is usually precipitous often times at a free falling rate. I once wrote an article on the meteoric rise and fall of various fighters. Lyoto was one of em after his brutal loss to Shogun. He's still one of my favorites though. Somewhere out there Bobby Cooper and LL are collectively feeling the pain.

Lyoto represented a real life video game caricature with unique skills. Now I'll never know who wins between him and Anderson. Blackhouse was THE POWERHOUSE at one point. Big Nog, JDS, Anderson, Lyoto, and Aldo. I don't think any other gym can duplicate that. AKA came close.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

lol, Bobby had is own rise and fall. One of the weirdest members we've had, went from being one of the nicest members to being the worst.

But yeah, Lyoto sure didn't stay long on the top. I remember the hype as it was yesterday. The next Anderson, the next undefeated champion... how can anyone figure this guy out? And then something happened..
