This is how the boxing match would go.

Conor presses Mayweather against the ropes.

Conor takes Mayweather down.

Conor chokes Mayweather out with the big boxing gloves on.

Conor celebrates while some fans boo. The irish are ecstatic.

The ref is trying to revive unconscious Mayweather on the canvas.

Official announcement, the bout ends in disqualification. Conor "loses".

It doesn't matter, Conor is paid the same whether he wins or loses.

I think Conor has a better chance than Victor Ortiz or Andre Berto. He's got a couple of things Mayweather isn't used to seeing and while I absolutely don't fancy Conor's chances against essentially any offensive boxer, I don't think the threat is really too massive from Mayweather to land a knockout shot. Conor would likely push Mayweather back to the ropes and have an active output, with Mayweather switching between rounds of blocking almost everything but with little output, and then another with some killer counters. Conor would probably win maybe 2 rounds in the first 6, start to slow down, then have a sloppy output in which Mayweather is too cautious to jump in for the kill and coasts to a decision effortlessly with little to no damage.

There's a small chance that Conor could use his reach, as he's a fighter who adds several inches to his length based on his fighting style, and get behind Mayweather's guard with hooks or hit the body, to which at Mayweather's age he's bound to feel and slow from. But I wouldn't really bank on this at all.

Against a boxer who is actively seeking the finish, I'd fancy all of them against McGregor. I see online some fans saying they'd favour him over Khan. Did these guys not see how spectacular Khan looked against Canelo? The dude might be susceptible to getting tagged and has a weak chin but as an offensive striker, specifically with some of the fastest hands in the sport, Khan's a beast.

I wouldn't say he "relies" on kicks. The Eddie Alvarez fight showed that he can strike without needing kicks. Conor would likely control the distance in punches alone against Myaweather since May doesn't ever really take a step forward and doesn't dance around you or anything. Conor's main use for kicks, outside of the Mendes and Diaz 2 fights where he used them for other reasons, is always just about establishing the distance and keeping his opponents right at the end of his strikes where they can't hit him. Conor then is able to switch into his punches and land right on the end of them where as others will hit half way through them, meaning his range in MMA is defined by keeping his opponents at range. Against Mayweather, Conor would likely hold whatever range he wanted already, but it's not like I think it makes a huge difference. Vs Mayweather almost everyone is purely slapping arms.

Conor would get f'n destroyed in a boxing match.. lets not be silly. I dont really give a shit because if they met in a ally just Conor and Floyd that boxer would swallow his pride one way or the other, what would happen in real life is the scenario Im interested in. I could give a sh1t less who can run around a ring and win at point fighting.

Boxing is less than half of combat, mma is as close as it gets to real combat and wile the techniques and fundamentals of boxing will always be taught, I could care less if the most corrupt sport in the country disappeared.
