Has UFC reached its top peak mainstream growth?
Prior to aquiring PRIDE, there just seemed to be plenty of room for company expansion and growth. Now that some of the very highly compensated PRIDE fighters didn't deliver, others failed to sign and its own UFC poster boys (Randy, Hughes, Tito, Chuck..) loosing their steam or retiring, how is UFC planing to fill up the arenas?

I think there is tons of room to grow. Not only in the US, Canada, but mainland Europe, they just began in the UK! If the UFC can build a fan base in the UK with someone like Micheal Bisping (ahole), then they can do the same for several other countries.
They're even considering shows in central america based on Huerta!.
Its all marketing. Micheal Bisping is not really a contender, but they make him appear that way to get the UK fans following! Once they're hooked on MMA, and no longer just hooked on Bisping, whether he wins or loses, at that point, they know and love OTHER fighters, so they keep watching.
The UFC can grow so much because they litteral can go around the world doing the same type of promoting.
I think a lot of us feel like the UFC is farked because Couture is leaving, and Fedor isnt coming over etc.
Well, the UFC grew, and grew, and grew, WHILE couture was retired and WHILE Fedor was with Pride.
Fortunately, or Unfortunatle, depending how you look at it, the UFC doesnt need any single fighter to build it anymore. They need a handsome face, with a good story, and above average fighting skills...Voila!! The dude is Filipino! Well the market in the Philippinnes just opened up to the UFC!
thats what I think.

that would be awesome.. but man.. the number of fights.. the ppv be crazy... the amount of cash paided to the fighter would be huge because mostly all high ranking fights right? i dunno it would be a awesome event... but would they make the amount of money that they want...? Because when its comes down to it Dana white is bout Business and Cash imo.

well the whole sport is expanding in popularity, like at my gym there has never been as many people signed up to fight as there are now, so i think the sport will continue to grow
but if the UFC thinks that it will be the only company and all others wont cut it (like dana thinks) they are wrong, i can see other organizations having the potential of being almost as big as the UFC.. and if the others grow and the UFC doesnt then its like the others took the potential customers away from the UFC... but the sport itself is going to continue to grow for a while i think.

Unless something major changes, then I think yes. The casual fan NEEDS a face that they can rely on; they need a Chuck Liddell or a Randy Couture. With MMA being so unpredictable and the favorite fighters losing, I think many will lose interest.
Although upsets are exciting they usually dont lead to great matches. Was I excited about Gonzaga's next fight after he upset CroCop? Not nearly as excited as I would've been for CroCop/Couture. Am I excited about Kongo facing Nog instead of a CroCop rematch? Not at all. Do I care at all about Matt Serra being the champ? I hope he loses quickly to Hughes.

Before the UFC can grow in the mainstream, I think it needs to evolve and improve upon key issues that are causing substantial controversy that are ultimately holding the sport back.
