I usually like your fight's of the week Damone but..
This fight was terrible. Sloppy fighting by Herring when he couldn't finish the fight and Nog was never really close to finishing it himself.
Disappointing fight

I just want to slap Heath's coaches for not screaming at him to finish Nog when he was down.

I hate to say it, but I agree completely.

That headkick Nog took was bad. It's a good thing the fight wasn't stopped because it shouldn't of been but in the next round herring should of jumped on him and ended it.

This was a good fight, but I was dissapointed that Herring lost, I'm probably the only one who was pulling for Herring, Nothing against Nog, I'm just a bigger fan of Heath. He should have finished Nog after that High Kick, but he played it safe and let Nog get his bearings back. Nothing but respect for Nog for coming back and winning.
I enjoyed thier first fight in Pride alot more, Nog really threw Heath a beating but Herring impressed me in escaping what seemed like 100 sub attempts from Nog. heath was actually hanging with Nog on the ground but he was just overwhelmed and outclassed, Nog/Herring 1 was a very fun fight that was non-stop action.

I don't know why people are saying Herring didn't try to finish that straight after he nailed Noguiera with that high kick. Did you see the fight? He was on top of him as soon as he realised he was rocked. Noguiera managed to get a kind of mangled half butterfly guard going while Herring was hammerfisting/pounding him. Then if you notice Nogueira starts to hook Herrings head down with his left arm and looks to trap Herrings left arm at the shoulder with his right arm. Herring wants to play none of that game and stands up. When they engage again a few seconds later Herring nails him with another kick a punch and what looks like a forearm/elbow then Nogeuira try's to take him down, looking for a submission/heel. Herring slips out and stands again. Horn sounds for end of the round.
Herring did try to finish the fight but he escaped some postions where he realised he -might- get into trouble. Everyone knows Noguirea's submission game is the best (Herring especially) in the HW division atm. Even when rocked/recovering he can be dangerous.

Exactly my observation! I think Nog is getting way too much disrespect for this one incident.

Big Nog does get to much disrespect, he got caught with a sloppy high kick, it happens. Alot of great fighters get to confident and get caught, at least Nog wasn't finished like most fighters would have been, and i dont see why people think that fight should have been stopped, in my opinion that would have been a HORRIBLE call. Kick aside, Big Nog showed once again that hes not only great on the ground but he also has pretty good standup. Easily in my top 5 favorite fighter list.
Now that Couture is out of the UFC I see Big Nog taking that heavyweight title soon.
