Again, thats not a productive way to look at it. What monetary value can you place on the biggest fight of your career leading to a potential shot against the #1 man? It's the opportunity hes been waiting for his whole fighting life - and he thinks now is the time to complain? Not only complain, but actually get the match up taken away?! Hes fooking insane. I don't know if ive ever seen a better example of cutting nose off to spite face.

Like I said in my previous mail. Say you have a job with shitty pay. And say after 10 years of slogging, you have an opportunity right in front of you to launch your career in terms of both standing and earnings. Would you consider that a good time to bitch about your shitty pay and tell your bosses you will pass on the great opportunity unless they pay you more right now?

In addition to losing the fight, the Conor fight and a platform to re-negotiate - he'll still be on the same money but now has more rungs on the ladder to climb.

Awesome negotiating skills Fergie.

Lol I can't stand the guy anyway. So **** him.

I disagree this fight was a step back for him, he doesn't need to fight a number #1 contenders fight and the money fight is with Conor that he could lose if he doesn't beat Khabib. He already beat two top five guys and is on a nine fight win streak it's not as if he's moving to the back of the line.

Make the WW division great again

As a Tony fan I hope he takes the fight and gets his contract worked out. Hopefully he can ask for a bump in pay only if he actually beats Khabib. If he plays hardball with the UFC he will lose and we won't see Tony fighting for the belt for a good two years. Tony has no leverage as he's not a household name, doesn't generate ppv #'s, and his personality is usually just professional (pretty sad right).

True. Some of the best TDD in the game period with good BJJ behind it and his striking way ahead of Nurmagomedov. It would certainly be an interesting fight.

You make a good point. But in my experience negotiation leverage gets used all the time. You could say that the UFC holds all the cards and there is a pathway to earn a lot of money, true. But on the other hand, how many exciting prospects do they have like Ferguson. Forget his public profile, he really is something special in the UFC ranks are getting very thread bare. That said if he loses this fight then is headlined a massive UFC peanuts and is down the ladder and is piss poor. On the other hand he is a young guy, and court case is going through, fighters union, the Ali act in a years time possibly. Where is the hurry to be ripped off by a greedy corporation

Sucks, cuz I really want to see that fight, but good for Tony although he did sign the deal.
I sympathise with him, he really should be on more than that but this is an odd time to start making demands. He's one win away from being in a good position to renegotiate his deal, plus a fight with Conor.
unless he loses...

Khabib would make Aldo's TDD look like James Toney's.

Well as pointed out he needs to get past his striking first.

Aldo is also the best fence grabber so I doubt he goes down too many times.
