Hi Kanto, sure I don't mind spending 5 minutes to explain the situation.

In this instance I was specifically referencing post number 6 on this particular thread, see here: (http://www.mmaforum.com/ufc/251274-m...ml#post3841778)

The post was made by John8204 who I'm sure you've bumped into on this forum from time to time, afterall he has over 9000 posts. I don't think John is necessarily a bad poster and even if I disagree with his opinions often or I don't particularly like the way in which he chooses to use conduct himself here, his posting volume makes him a valuable member of the forum, in addition he seems to enjoy readily giving his opinions so we always know where we stand with John.

John is definitely not a fan of Bisping, I think that is fair to say so in this example he has chosen to not give him a place within his Top-5 FOTY 2016, typically it has been the same five or six fighters being used across the MMA media in voting. John has went a step further, although not prompted John has seen it fit here to give his Top-10 FOTY 2016. Whilst I appreciate John going the extra mile and providing us with more examples of greatness from 2016, his exclusion of Bisping completely from his list appears to be an emotional reaction due to not liking the fighter in question. Take a look at these:

What we are trying to say if that if you asked John to compile of a list of the best Brits to have won TUF, it would look like this.
  1. Ross Pearson
  2. James Wilks
  3. Michael Bisping

I think Bisping might not have signed an autograph for John in the past or hasn't responded to any of his fan mail.

<sigh>

Why Bisping isn't FOTY

1.) He barely beat two guys with a combined age of 100 in his home town, both of which could have been stopped.

2.) His "knee" injury seems to come and go as to the availability of Jacare and Romero.

3.) People only care about him because he's from UK, now I love fighters from all different countries and regions I am not a homer. Frankly most of you should stop reading into my posts and focus on your little kick ball soccer thingy.

4.) I don't hate Michael Bisping, I think he's Englands greatest professional runner of all time. I'm amazed at his ability to go for 25 straight minutes of not fighting, it's impressive it really is.

Make the WW division great again

1). Anderson Silva still gives anyone in the division problems, he stepped up to fight Cormier on short notice and hurt him - Cormier was afraid to stand with Silva. Dan Henderson was a revenge fight, also Hendo KO'd Lombard previously to the Bisping fight. Beside nobody give Bisping a chance against Silva, but when Bisping won it was because Silva is past it - lets not forget Bisping is pretty old himself.

2). Nah he said outright that he'd risk it for a money fight but has no intention of putting his title on the line without being fully recovered for anything else.

3). No they don't. Bisping is beloved by fans and fighters alike!

We can look at your list 5. Tim Elliot, A guy who has one fight in the UFC and lost. Cro-Cop at No.3 Well apart from Lawal I've never heard of any of those other fighters - One of them is Sumo Wrestler FFS. Tony Ferguson No.1 (I think you must be the only guy on the internet that has Ferguson as fighter of the year). He's fought twice this year, decent win against RDS but thats about it.

I would score that fight to Bisping myself, but lets be honest, Anderson Silva was the one who gave Bisping all the chances on that fight.

For me it's besides the point. John even didn't put Bisping in his top-10. 8th? 9th? Maybe even 10th? Nope. Madness.
