Fresh off his title fight win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 207, new bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will coach the latest season of “The Ultimate Fighter” opposite his former teammate and next opponent TJ Dillashaw.

“The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption” will debut with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, April 19 at 10 p.m. ET on FS1.

The full cast list for “The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption” will be revealed at a later date.

This will be the first time for Garbrandt as a head coach on the show after he assisted his friend Urijah Faber during season 22 when he went up against Conor McGregor on the reality show.

I havent watched the last 2 or 3 seasons.

This one might be ok though. Expect to see Garbrandt verbally ruin Dillashaw. The Alpha Male v Ludwig should be fun.

Cody claims he knocked Dillashaw out cold in training when he was 1-0.

Chael claims he visited team alpha male once and Cody and TJ were beefing in the parking lot & had to be separated.

These guys have history.

Cody and TJ could be an epic rivalry in the making.

Supposedly, the new owners are outsourcing the show to a third party and slashing the budget for this season. Honestly, I'm okay with this one. I watch occasionally and I'm sure the two will have some heated interactions which hopefully will be fun to watch the like Conor and Faber's were. But I think it'll be a lot more bros because these two actually don't like one another.

Whatever, it makes some sense for the title picture. There is only one immediate contender in TJ. Cruz needs to win another fight and might be on the shelf a little bit from the damage he took in the fight with Cody. This gives Cruz time to win a fight to get back to the title and be ready to face the winner of these two.
