That's why contracts are structured like 2 years with 4 fights. Which means the contract will expire in 2 years, regardless of how many fights were completed. This is done because injuries can occur. That is also why Dana says Couture is under contract for another 9 months. After the contract expires, he can sign with any other organization.
from what i recall from the deal being signed it was a four fight two year deal

so lets say for arguements sake that there is a clause that says 4 fight or two years whichever comes first

randy fought tim in march of 2007

so say they signed the contract in january of 2007

that would mean that randy would have to wait a lil more than nine months for his contract to expire.....it would be more like 14 months

since i recall randy wanting to fight 2 fights a year
The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.
