Tim Sylvia Says He Is Back!
Tim Sylvia: ‘The old Tim is back’ against Brandon Vera at UFC 77 at UFC blog for UFC news, results, videos, rumors, fights, pics and tickets
I personally don't like Big Tim, mainly due to the fact that his fights are so boring. He never tries any risky techniques, which I guess is commendable because he doesn't put himself in a position to make very many mistakes. But the way I see it is that if Tim fought any decent BJJ guy he would get toasted due to the fact that his arms and legs are so long you could use those bad boys as a mean lever. You know fulcrum + long lever = pain for Timmy Boy. But anyways heres to this fight hopefully being worth while.
On the other hand I haven't seen very much of Vera from what I can remember but I do know that he is young and hopefully he progresses and reaches the potential that I have heard so much about.
And lastly why isn't McDonald v Okami being shown, that is major BS.

I really hope that Tim comes in and puts an end to it in the first.

the article points out that Tim's never been KO-d. Then again, he's never eaten one of vera's flying knees.

I consider jeff Monson a great submission wrestler.....hhe did not even come close to submitting Tim. I guess it is possible his limbs were to short to be effective with that height difference though

Vera will have to fly pretty high to hit Tim with a knee.

The fact Vera was greedy and hasn't fought for so long in the UFC really irritates me.
It's like the hockey strike all over again.
Believe me, I admit these guys are underpaid...but the majority of these guys aren't educated, and make a shitload of money considering they're fighting, which is what they all love.
I hope Vera gets his ass kicked by the big man.

Glad he gotta new boxing coach! It's about stopping fights and I think Vera's getting stopped.
Vera's thai clinch is gonna look pretty useless against Syliva who also has very underrated ground defense!

That's what he said last time, and the time before, and the time before. Look for him to try to stall out a win.

vera was misled by his manager dionne......dionne said untrue things about the negotiation with the ufc.....in order to trick vera into fighter for another promotional company which would give him less exposure but more money....
vera said he had now fired dionne....and hired a new manager...then signed with the ufc
