No, she isn’t returning to the Octagon – at least not yet. But EW reports that Rousey will be on the small screen as a guest star appearing on the TV show, “Blindspot,” with the episode likely to air in early May.
“Rousey will be playing Devon Penberthy, a female prison inmate who grew up in a working class family from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and is serving time for transporting weapons across state lines,” the news release stated. “She is a tough, athletic woman who knows how to fight and handle a weapon.”
Rousey has had roles in the film industry with “Furious 7” and “Entourage,” as well as experience on TV with shows such as Comedy Central’s “Drunk History.” She also hosted “Saturday Night Live” in January 2016.
It is unknown if the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion will be returning to MMA. Rousey has lost her last two fights by knockout – to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Nov. 2015, and to current 135-pound champion Amanda Nunes in December at UFC 207.
She’s kept away from the media except for a couple social media posts which gave little indication of whether she will return to fighting or walk away from MMA for good.
“Blindspot” can be seen on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Horseshit has a more palatable aroma than this series.
One thing I cant stand is strong bad arse female characters who are played by skinny weedy looking actresses. The lead girl in Blindspot looks like she couldn't break her way out of a paper bag. She clearly has zero fighting skills, or any athletic skills, period. No matter how hard they try to choreograph the fighting, it looks fooking embarrassing.
At least use an actress like Carano, who looks chunky and strong, to play these roles. But no, lets ignore the obviously talented athletes and instead pick this skinny weak looking thing.
Me either really but the premise seemed cool. Then you realize it's almost exactly like Blacklist and many shows before it. Every episode is about one of her tattoo's that are a clue in some big grand mystery that will drag along for 5-7 seasons and probably have a stupid reason for it all in the finale. I'm sure getting Ronda involved, even for one episode, was a for sure attempt at a ratings bump.
I wonder if Ronda and Gina will ever face off in a movie? They would probably have to make it like when Jet Li first faced Jackie Chan. It was a 50/50 tit for tat with no true resolution to the fight.
So you mean they will face off for 5 minutes and then some whitebred generic American white kid will stand in between them and ruin the entire film?
Sorry, I'm still pissed off that this stupid kid's in Forbidden Kingdom. You've got two of the greatest martial artists in the history of cinema showing off almost expert technique in a large degree of different Chinese martial arts styles...and them some jerk kid who no one cares about soaking up air time.
More then likely and while the show does have an interesting premise, it just goes to show that Hollywood is running out of ideas. All they can do is rehash new ideas, lately the trend has been with TV show adaptions of big hit movies. Next thing you know they'll be redoing anything under the sun that has had some kind of adaption, as shown with Gotham.
I'll try and think of all the remakes in 16/17 and LETS GO. Lethal Weapon, Training Day, Emerald City aka Wizard of OZ, Taken, The Exorcist, Lemony Snickets, Fuller House, 24, MacGyver, X-Files...And I'm sure there's a few more I left out.
They are but supposedly the next season of X-files has no Mulder and Scully and the new 24, while it has a couple core characters, it has no Kiefer aka Jack Bauer.
Well not during the Peter Falk series but I checked and someone played Columbo before him.
