and that is why i absolutely can't stand him.

Tim Sylvia is a solid fighter.
Rich Franklin is a class act, though this was already known.
Bonnar actually made me laugh.
Josh Burkman has the lamest nickname in the UFC.

walked up to his nose... that he flattened to franklin's cheek in the last encounter. im sure silva is very confident. i feel bad for tim though. he's had some bad fights, but hes not a bad fighter and he doesn't deserve the disrespect he gets. I'm not a fan and i think vera's gonna put him into orbit, but still UFC fans get a little rampant with the boos and stuff.

i dunno about the burkman comment... i think the "soul assassin" is a pretty terrible name... and bonnar's "american psycho" moniker was pretty terrible- although i believe he's changed it since then.

The way people think of Tim "poopy pants" Silvia reminds me of the way people thought of boxer Larry Holmes in the 80's.
Larry was a very talented fighter but he relied so much on his long punches that he became a bit boring. Tim became the same way. Its too bad we fans feel this way about Poopy Pants because he has a pretty compelling life story.

I wasn't on any forum's when Sylvia was knockin people out, but I'd be willing to be he didn't get much hate. If he beats Vera, I see a lot of closet Sylvia fans coming out and saying I told you so.
Sylvia has all the tools to win. He has fight-ending power in his hands and feet. I think he'll be stronger (hell, he should be with a 35 lb. weight advantage). Big Tim oughta take this one.
Vera's best chance is chopping him down with kicks, moving in for knees, and all the while...using the head movement that was key in Randy's win.
Its gonna be a fun fight.

Tim Sylvia at the weigh-ins:

It's not great, but he's still looking huge, and no body expected him to show up with a six pack. At least not without drinking it.
We'll see, I'm still going with Sylvia to beat Vera. I'm hoping the real Big Timmy is going to show up.
