Aldo actually defended the title 9 times, they just aren't counting the WEC defenses before the merger. But you can add taking the belt from Mike Brown, and defending it against Urijah Faber and Manvel Gamburyan in the WEC.

Can't compare past champions like Anderson Silva or GSP to Conor.

It used to be much easier to get a title shot.

2-3 wins in a division used to be enough to fight for the belt. Someone could conceivably fight for the belt after only 1 year.

Now someone needs 7+ wins and it can take 2-3 years to get a title shot.

Hard work is the only real PED.

Prospects -- Doo Hoo Choi, Ashlee Evans Smith, Mickey Gall, Sage Northcutt, Thomas Almeida, Yair Rodriguez, Lorenz Larkin, Robert Whittaker

Anderson should be on 11, kinda bullshit that he doesn't get credit for Lutter.

Or a big mouth. Or favorable circumstances that let you fight for the belt even after a loss.
