he just lost one to sean sherk a while back....come on brother

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

Cummo for sure.
Florian to a lesser extent. he's been tearing it up in LW, but its like no one will acknowledge it.
Spencer Fischer as well... how long has his win streak been rolling? i can't remember his last loss, but i'm pretty sure he should have the title shot before penn. i'd rather see spencer and BJ fight than sherk and bj. at least we'd be garaunteed some action.

yeah, but he's won two? three? fights since then. If rich has a 2 fight turnaround then so should everyone else. I think with the fire kenny lit under his own ass, he'd prob put up more of a fight this go round. hell, he put up a fight the first time, but the blood was holding him back.

I think there are alot of guys being overlooked in the UFC right now, because alot of the fans are just looking at the promos.

For starters, I agree with everybody who said that Luke Cummo is getting overlooked. I've always thought the guy was a decent fighter and he's exciting to watch too.

Personally, though, I think there are two guys who just aren't getting their due in this organization:

Houston Alexander gets alot of attention, but most of it is people talking about how he's all hype. That's a load of bullsh*t. He's spent under 2 minutes in the Octagon and he stomped two of the better standup fighters in the UFC at 205 pounds. While people will say that Legionarius isn't legit, he's a great boxer (which is why he get taken down so much) and Houston tore through him like a wet paper bag. The same for Jardine.

Second, I think Melvin Guillard is very, very underrated. I think that he and Frank Edgar are the two most explosive fighters at 155 right now and I wish that Melvin hadn't made the stupid mistake of getting caught in that guillotine against Stevenson, because he's a better fighter than that. I don't feel like anybody is talking about his hands, and as far as they go, they're probably the most dangerous weapons in the UFC's 155 pound division. Honestly, I'd rather see Guillard vs. Edgar or Guillard vs. Huerta than either of those guys fighting their upcoming opponents. Personally, I think the UFC is trying to make them posterboys, and avoiding doing that with Melvin because of his attitude.

Still, I think there are alot of underrated fighters in the sport right now, those are just the ones I'm upset about.

hail hail guillard.
everyone rails him for losing so quick to stevenson and they claim he's got no ground game. his ground game is sick- he just needs to lay off the coke and rub the stars out of his eyes. once he touches back down to earth i think he'll improve more. he is one of the best strikers in the sport and no one ever comments on his reversals which are in some cases barely human. like his forward flipping reversal of attempts to take his back. I swear, the whizzer has to be his signature move.

but yeah. def guillard.
and Ironman, you arent the only one that wants to see guillard vs. Huerta.

they fought once already and Melvin put a beating on Huerta and won the match. props to huerta though- he stuck it out to a decision and didnt get KO-ed like most of melvins opponents.
