What do yall think... Did Angela deserve it...

These days everybody wants to sue. Sheesh...

Cris Cyborg and another UFC female fighter had an altercation at the UFC Athlete Retreat on Sunday and things got physical.

Upset over tweets posted by Angela Magana, Cyborg confronted Magana during the event in Las Vegas, sources told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani. After heated words, Cyborg punched Magana in the face, sources said. Magana was rocked a bit by the punch, but did not fall down. She was then taken away, sources said.

Cyborg confirmed the incident on Twitter, tweeting a link of an article about it. Bec Rawlings, a friend and teammate of Magana who is at the retreat, tweeted that she had a video of the incident and wants to sell it to TMZ. Rawlings also wrote that Magana “was not rocked,” but does have a “busted lip.”

Magana was rocked but didn't fall to the ground. It was broken up after. Cyborg has been very upset about some personal tweets from Magana.

Sources said Cyborg was upset in particular about a Magana tweet making fun of Cyborg’s looks while Cyborg was visiting cancer patients at a hospital in Brazil. Cyborg’s father is battling cancer and she went to the hospital dressed as a superhero to visit the ill kids.

Cyborg is arguably the best women’s fighter in the world, a former champ at 145 pounds in Invicta FC and Strikeforce. Angela Magana, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter 20 known for her at-times crude social-media persona, fights in the UFC’s 115-pound division, but has not competed since 2015.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman apparently tried to intervene in the fight, though unsuccessfully.

All of the UFC’s more than 500 fighters were invited the UFC Athlete Retreat this weekend at the UFC’s new campus in Las Vegas. Among the activities have been a talk from Kobe Bryant, a tour of the new UFC Performance Institute and Snoop Dogg will host a concert Sunday night.

If someone talks shit about me in real life or tries to get in my face, or posts shit about me online, you bet your ass the next time I see that person I will be confronting them. The chance that it ends up in some form of physical altercation is pretty likely as well. Am I to be upset, shocked, or disappointed, that an adult who is a fully trained fight got into an altercation with another grown adult who is a fully trained fighter and some physical violence happened? No, of course not. In my opinion? Let them fight. Let them settle whatever scores they want.

You gotta be careful, there are guns and knives. Angela Magana prolly likes to fight barehanded, but not everyone is like her.

So she has trolling Cyborg online.

When they met face to face Cyborg cracked her one.

Angela probably cried a little bit then reported it to the police.

She is now playing the victim.

Sadly this how I see this scenario playing out 100% of the time if internet troll is confronted face to face with the person they are trolling.

Why is Angela Magana still a thing? Is it because she gets her arse out on Twitter? She's certainly not still around because of her fighting ability.

Magana is a dogshit fighter, and her whole fake "Majesty" heel persona is ******* terrible but to be fair to her, she's got a great arse.

Actually I think they should book that fight. Don't even know if they're in the same weight class, but that would be a nice build up. It'll be over whenever Cyborg feels like it. I think all internet trolls should face this, kinda like the "Bully Beatdown." That was a great concept.

Theres a lot of support online for Cyborg on this, I think she'll get away with a slap on the wrist.

I support the right hook. More internet bullies need this to happen to them.
Pity we didn't see it properly, looked like a bit of slap or soft punch to me.

Would love it if Dana made a fight between those two, open weight. See how much shit she has to throw about a woman dressing up as a superhero to please kids with cancer, she'd be awfully silent I think.

I think anyone that saw this video and have been victims of trolling themselves would have let out a cheer seeing this.

Cyborg's public statement(from her facebook):

Dear Cyborg Nation,

I looked the word Culture up in the dictionary and it said “The social behavior and norms found in human societies” which made me start to think of all the different cultures I have had shape my views and how those experiences have sculpted my understanding of life and relationships, and it made me want to share my thoughts with those on Cyborg Nation.

Core Values of Culture are learned through those in leadership roles in the communities we live, work, and regularly interact with. When I first started training at Chute Boxe in Curitiba I learned the true spirit of fighting watching legends like Wanderlia Silva, Shogun, and Cyborg train everyday in the gym. Everyone looked at these fighters as an example, we saw the hard work, heart, and dedication it took to become a World Champion and we learned not to expect anything less from ourselves. Training amongst these legends of the sport we learned how to win with pride, and if a loss happened to deal with it with integrity. Even though I am not training with Rudimar Fredrigo and the Chute Boxe team in Curitiba, I think I still represent the culture of the team and the values we place in honor, respect, and discipline which is why I have proudly flown the #CHUTEBOXE flag my entire career.

The way we select friends is often very different than the way companies select which ones to build long term working relationships with. The success of any company merger relies on the ability of the owners to merge core values of the two companies, giving special emphasis to the development of communication that can result in a positive conflict resolution whenever problems or misunderstandings occur.

Similar to my time in the gym with Chute Boxe I have learned that just like in fighting, culture in business is developed by those seen successful and high profile within the company. Examples of leadership are learned from the top down, and this results in what eventually becomes the culture of the company, and the identity of their relationships, and their associates.

When disparaging comments are made at the top, it sets an example that it is acceptable within the company, allowing lower ranking individuals to continuing following examples of leaders, establishing the culture and practices of the company. It is no secret I have been a victim of online bullying. At times in my career it has felt like their has been a team of writers using the internet to shape the public’s vision of my company’s brand, often attempting to make me look like the face of anabolic abuse in the sport of MMA. While it has been years since someone has said I looked like “Wanderlia Silva in a dress”, it doesn’t feel that long ago that I was listening to someone give me advice on how cutting of my dick would help me to make 135lbs easier. When people see these actions of people high profile in the company being promoted through social media without consequence or even a public apology, they see it as an acceptable behavior within the company, and often view it as an encouraged opportunity at self promotion. It should never be acceptable for a company to allow their employees to develop a culture where sexual harassment, racial prejudices, or female discrimination are acceptable in the work place.

When two companies work together, it is not only money, but the relationships within those companies, that establish the value, length, and success of the partnerships. Feeling welcomed, respected, and having trust that the two companies are mutually beneficial and seeking the same goals is essential for any success in a long term commitment. While profitability is important it can not be the only factor when determining a merger of two companies because for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

For me it is simple to see the things I value. I am a family girl from Brazil who is not impressed by the lights of the show and the sound of the radio. While I do place some value in money I also know the joys of working for a company that values respect, loyalty, and honesty amongst its associates and discourages a workplace where sexual harassment, racial prejudices, and discrimination against females fighters is acceptable promotion.

Love,

Cris Cyborg

That would be a shame. Jones punched DC, Cody throat chokes TJ, Wandy assaults Chael but it backfired. All these were unsanctioned forms of physical assault but nothing happened because they were able to profit from it. I bet if Cyborg and Angela had a fight coming up this punch would have been brushed off as good marketing.

Honestly the more expendable party in this whole situation is Angela Magana and if necessary he can throw her to the curb. Cyborg is a big name and Dana would be an idiot to throw her out considering the fact that Bellator is waiting to snatch her if that happens. Cyborg has worked with Coker and sometimes loyalty can be a good motivator.

Yeah she's been the biggest name in women's MMA outside of the UFC for the longest time and the idea was that Cyborg had to meet Ronda on her terms. Once Ronda lost the title her terms no longer mattered mainly because Ronda no longer is relevant. She is going to be key to building the women's featherweight division in the UFC in the coming years.
