dead on

Randy did great but I have a hard time giving it to him because of the way he won against Gonzaga (with the broken nose on the takedown). Not taking anything away from either fighter, but if that hadn't happened I can't help but wonder how Gonzaga's jiu jitsu would have factored in. Anderson had a good year by submitting Lutter and getting the TKO on Marquadt... beating someone you already beat is what's expected (franklin). I just think that Rampage facing both UFC & Pride Champs and winning is a bit more impressive. Tyson Griffin is an awesome fighter and always explosive, but that decision over Guida was so close it's hard to vote for him.

Thanks to NikosCC for the sick sig!

My head says Silva, but my heart says Griffin. I am so happy to see him starting to live up to his potential.

I agree, that fight was very, very close but in the end they gave the decision to Griffin, and a win is a win just ask Tim Sylvia.

The magnitude of this didnt even hit me until I read this, I voted Randy but now think I wish I could change my vote.

Randy did come out of retirement to beat two world class heavyweights and that is an impressive feat that cant be overlooked.

I do wonder though how many more votes Randy would have had this whole Randy/Dana/$$$ drama never happened.

Surely someone who came from nowhere and is now a top ranking contender in the UFC had the best year? I'd vote for Housten Alexander if he were an option.

NYBA Champ @ 170!

^^Another great call, especially in a division as stacked as the current LHW.

I still think I should have voted for Rampage though.

A. Silva, then Couture. The other fighters have had impressive years but Silva and Couture have both made HUGE impacts in their weight divisions. Rampage Jackson would be my #3 pick also

At first i thought of Silva due to his 3 impressive displays but then i thought 2 were against the same fighter, when you look at Rampage you've got to say it must be him, he avenged his Eastman loss then took the belt off Chuck who had dominated it for quite some time, then beat Hendo in a war. Not a hard choice for me, Rampage.

I think what gives Anderson the edge is his first fight compared to Rampage's first fight though. Rampage seemed a little rusty, and even commented about wanting a couple warm up fights. Anderson Silva just came in and destroyed Leben, then destroyed Franklin.
