The standard refs (Mazagatti, Yamasaki, Dean etc..) are hired by the NSAC and thus only ref (usually) UFC and MMA sanctioned bouts that are held in Nevada. The refs from tonight were hired by the Jersey commition. Although Big John is the only referee employed by the UFC so I don't see why he wouldn't be there.

I guess it is how you look at it MD. I am with you. While I thought the reffing was good at times, and bad at other times, it was terrible to see some fights stood up/separated so quickly. I mean, while some might consider it boring, it is a part of the game.

I thought they were definitely quick to seperate a few times. This isn't boxing its mma. Imagine of they seperated Couture after being in the clinch for 30 seconds.

Wrong, they also work in California and other states where the UFC has events. Just not this one

I thought they were standing them up way too much. A couple times they stood people up they were clearly still going for advances and throwing shots.
