There's always going to be "flavours of the month" it's just the nature of the beast when it comes to sports. MMA is not like the NBA or MLB where there is a hometown team so casual fans gravitate from one fighter to another especially after a loss.

Personally never been too into the bandwagons. Hopped on Gabes I suppose, but I am still there, and I was one of very few people that realised the Couture fight was proof that his win on crocop was definately not a fluke, an not the other way round.

I still like Shogun, as my sig hows, and Shogun = future UFC LHW champ in my book.

Houston........I like the dude, 3 fights, all have ended in KOs. He raped Jardine, looked like a mad bear pounding out Sakarra and F'N CHOKESLAMMED SILVA! I love the dude and want to see him fight as soon as possible, but he looked like a lost child on the ground, whereas I expcted him to be more like a Kevin Randleman.

I do hop on bandwagons when fighters are looking good, the diference with me is that I don't hop off em after one loss. For instance when Shogun lost I immediately put him in my Avatar and sig, instead of lets say pretending to leave the forum and the entire sport of MMA.

And I still like Ryo.

I pretty much agree with TheNegation about Shogun & Houston. I am still a huge Shogun fan, as I still watch him stomp fools. Houston is someone I still find really fun to watch, and can be useful fighting lower-tier sluggers.

Even after Houston after defeat I'm still a Houston fan. That being said, Thiago Silva did put on an impressive performance; there's no question about that. It's MMA everyone is bound to lose sometime or another.

I actually like the bandwagon hopping, hell if it means I get to feel specil as a Shogun fan again I like it. I hated when everyone who had ever see a HL clip of him beating Rampage in PRIDE was sucking on his left nut.

Real fans sick with their favourites after they lose, and you can see on this forum quite easily who the real fans of MMA are.

I think anyone who jumps on and off bandwagons can't really be a true fan in the first place, more just glory hunters. If I like a fighter, it's for good reason & for all that sometimes I'm blown away by some fights, I try to stay critical. Losses are all part of the game and sometimes I quite like to see my favourites lose to see how much better they'll be when they bounce back.

Houston I'm sure will come back and be just as exciting as ever, except with more focus on his ground game in training. Oh & BTW, if you watch the fight again, you can see he try's to get back into half guard for the guillotine but using 1 arm to push him away, he loses grip.

People are too quick to jump the gun

Is there a way to slowly jump the gun? Doesn't jumping the gun mean doing something too quickly? hmm

As for the bandwagon... I don't think Houston performed as poorly as everyone made it out to be. He obviously shouldn't have been rolling with Thiago, but don't forget who put the fight on the ground. It looked like Houston got a little over anxious, took the takedown because he could with disregard to whether he should. Houston actually doesn't have to develop a huge ground game to be successful in the UFC... Chuck doesn't have one and he still doesn't need one. If a predominantly stand-up fighter can have a solid takedown defense then a ground game isn't essential, I think Houston needs to keep working on takedown defense and the rest will come with experience. I still chalk this loss up to being Houston's own fault, and what seemed like anxiety. I'm not taking anything away from Thiago, because he capitalized on Houston's errors (as he should have).

Thanks to NikosCC for the sick sig!

So true. The reason they aint talkin is cuz they all thought that Rashad was gonna dominate Bisping for 15 minutes which wasn't the case. Then ya had some ppl wit the crazy idea that Rashad was actually gonna KO Bisping.

I'll be the first to admit that I thought Rashad was gonna take the UD, I was thinkin 29-28, 29-28, 29-28.

Back to Mr. Alexander, who is been talked about the most since post UFC 78. I dont see why ya need to hop off the bandwaggon, he is still hella exciting and will bring the fun.

He aint gonna be UFC lhw champ, but ya can bet he will continue to KO some suckaz.

No he didn't get knocked out on his feet but it is only a matter of time. Plus having no head movement is never good. And he didn't even know how to bridge off is head from the bottom.

Thank you for teaching me the origins of that phrase.

Honestly I just say it a lot, IRL and online. Its a habit. If I were THAT interested in making myself clever I'd probably cut back on the "lulz @ stuff" and netspeak.

Its like when I type 'to' when 'too' is more appropriate. Or when I write 'then' when 'than' is the correct choice. If somebody out there is perfect, it sure ain't me.

but yeah, I honestly didn't know it was latin. The only languages I'm remotely familiar with are english and netspeak.
