Alves, Lytle, Herman and Gono Win $55,000 UFC 78 Bonuses

Was surfing various MMA websites and came upon this interesting article.

Alves, Lytle, Herman and Gono Win $55,000 UFC 78 Bonuses -- MMAjunkie.com

"The traditional post-event bonuses have gone from just $10,000 a year ago to the new level of $55,000."

- I wonder if this had anything to do with money issue that Couture brought to the publics attention. I think 55k is more then what some of the fighters would have made if they had won the fight. Funny, but sad at the same time.

Regardless, I think this is a great motivation for fighters to leave it all on the line. I bet Tyson Griffin can't wait to get back into the octagon, I think the dude has gotten 3 FOTN bonuses already.

P.S. Anyone have the Alves vs. Lytle fight? +rep for the first one who posts link!

I downloaded Lytle vs Alves off of UFC.com lastnight and WOW that was an amazing fight. Those guys went in there to knock each other out. Lytle is a much better fighter now. Very aggressive and looking to impress the crowd and finish the fight. I've been a big fan of his since I saw him fight Lawler but I'm an even bigger fan now. I'll try to post the fight when I get home from work.

I've become a big fan of Lytle too lately, the dude doesn't get finished, you will either need the judges or doctors decision to beat him.

Gono's armbar on McCrory definitely "deserved Submission of the Night" honors. I don't think I've ever seen an armbar executed in that manner. I just remember my jaw drop when he slapped that thing on. Sick, sick, sick.

Also, T Silva should've been rewarded something for his performance against Alexander, one of the better fights out of an overall boring night.
