Hughes is his own biggest fan and has made no secret about it, and thats not an easy guy to like.
i am not sure anybody can question the legitimacy of his accomplishments, but they can question his personality and the main thing that draws alot of people to read an autobiography is the character and personality of the author. Matt hughes arrogance makes people question his character and dislike his personality.
I just don't see why it's so horrible for Hughes to say the same things other fighters say. I don't think he's anymore arrogant than most other fighters out there, it just seems like more people nitpick at the shit he says more than other people. He always shows respect to his opponents, whether he wins or loses. Who cares if he thinks he is good, he is good, he has every right to. I just think people read into what he says and does waaaaaay too much. It's not like he walks around everday with a shirt that says "I am the most dominant champion in UFC history, and you are worthless".
I seriously think when certain people listen to him talk, they are turning off all noises around them and sitting there just TRYING as hard as they can to find something wrong with what he says, even if it means taking it out of context, which happens a lot.
My point is, Hughes may have wrote the book, but he didn't write the title or the description. Anyone with a brain should know this, but since it is Hughes, everyone just ignores this fact and bashes him for something the publisher's decided to write...TO SELL MORE BOOKS.
Do you guys understand that when people write books, it goes through PUBLISHING, which in turn creates a bunch of different points of view for the title, description, and any editing of the actual book itself, then they test it, do surveys, and find out which style works best to make the most money, then that's what they choose.
Of course, all the Hughes bashers will ignore this fact. And that's what pisses me off.
Yes, he can be arrogant at times, just like everyone else in the world, he is human afterall. Is it neccessary to sit here and nitpick and every little thing he does or says? What does it accomplish? You feel better about yourself now that you got to call him an arrogant prick over your computer, yet AGAIN?
Nothing against any of you personally, I just find it annoying. I'm sure I do things that annoy other people as well. We are all human you know.
I just find it quite retarded how people sit here on their computers, and judge another human being that they've never had a conversation with in their life, let alone made eye contact with, and their reasoning for judging and bashing him is because they think he judges people too much. How much more arrogant is it to say "I am a great fighter", than it is to get on your computer, pretend you never do or say anything wrong EVER, and then judge someone else as if you are better than them. It makes no sense. It's completely hypocritical. Would you like it if a million people got on their computers everyday and talked shit about you acting like they are somehow better then you?
