I don't have a problem with this choice at all. It's really a lose/lose situation for the UFC with the choice of whether to have a title fight at the end of the series or not.

If they did, then people will complain that the title is being put on hold.

If they didn't, people would complain that the series is pointless.

I, for one, am really glad they chose who they chose. This should be a great season.

I do agree with ya. Rampage and his over-the-top humor vs Forest with his deadpan style. Really compliment each other (ie...Forest's comment last night on the Video Game Awards to Rampage: "You couldn't kick my ass in a game of Halo" after the Champ quipped "You know my team is gonna whup yo teams ass"). Hilarious.

However, as coaches, I gotta wonder sometimes about Dana's choices. Forest I believe is the better pick here. This stems mainly from the well known fact that Rampage "hates to train". He has said it. Of course, he DOES train, but he doesn't like to. We'll see how he chooses to motivates his fighters.

The other thing that bugs me a little here is the direction Dana and the UFC management seem to be taking with the TUF series. I have always thought (and it certainly started off this way) that the show was supposed to be a "talent pool" from which the UFC could draw some really good fighters and give them a shot at a very legitimate future in the UFC.

This past season has panned out (for me anyway) as little more than another reality TV series. The bullshit that MOST of those dudes were doing in the house MOST of the time was little more than a bunch of immature frat boys would be pulling the first time that they got away from mommy and daddy. There are two (maybe three) fighters from that entire show that will ever actually be a legitimate name in the UFC...Mac Danzig being one of them. Put ANY of the others in the ring with ANY of even the mid-tier fighters in the WW division and they are gonna get 100% schooled. Fickett, Kos, Karo...they'd stomp a hole right through their respective asses.

I wonder if Dana (and the rest of the UFC mgt team) are trying to find really really good fighters to start filling out the ranks in ALL of the divisions of our still growing sport OR are they just looking for ratings and entertainment for typical "reality TV shock value"? Sometimes...hell...MOST of the time...it makes me wonder.

I think it's gunna be awesome.

Im sick of these bitches saying the UFC is becoming WWF.

The only reason they are saying that is because WWF is very succesful and the UFC with its growing popularity and success is developing a similar business model (and I stress business model and not a similarity between the actual events).

The reality of the situation is WWF is fake and eveyone knows that, the UFC is real sport and everyone knows that.

I don't see why people want MMA to be confined to the niche market. MMA is the greatest sport in the world, everyone should enjoy it, and if it takes a couple entertaining reality shows to do that then so be it.

this will probably be the most entertaining tuf ever with both rampage and griffin as coaches. i don't like the fact that we'll have to wait 9 months for the title fight, but it will give the ufc enough time to find out a no1 contender.

right now the lightheavy weight division doesnt really have a no1 contender passed griffin. shogun lost to griffin, jardine beat chuck but wasn't that impressive beforehand, rashad and bisping havnt proved that they can hang with the big guys, chucks on 2 losses, and wanderlei needs more exposure in the ufc, and then theres tito....

hopefully after 9 months all these guys can have at least 2 fights and hopefully it'll be easier to decide who deserves a title shot.

This will be the best season to watch yet...Congrats to Forrest for advancing so much in the sport since his time in TUF. I think he will be a great coach because he knows how much being the Ultimate fighter can do for a fighters career. Rampage will also be there to spice things up, I think this was a great idea by Dana.

The UFC needs more Middleweights and the TUF series is perfect for that. And having 2 great guys, funny as hell will be fun to watch.

No, by tying up another belt for a stupid realtity show the UFC is offically crossed over into WWE and TNA territory.
