if shogun gets his cardio back he will win this by submission in the second.
Except for the fact that Tito Ortiz actually has excellent sub defense.

I think Tito will have a hard time getting the fight to the ground without taking serious punishment. Also they seem to be standing fighters up really quickly lately so I'm not sure Tito can get away with a lay n' pray decision

I think Tito is still a broken mess, and although is fit enough to fight, he just can't move like he used to.

Shogun has been dynamic and athletic in the past with his movement both on the ground and on the feet. I think if he can use this to his advantage, he will make Tito look slow in comparison. The scrambles are where this will show through, and is Shogun's best chance at winning.

He isn't good enough to KO him standing, and without his patented stomps and soccer kicks he can't finish the way he likes, which is to hurt a guy, and just kick the crap out of them while they're down. He needs to sweep Tito in a scramble and sub him from top position, and although that's his best chance, Tito hasn't been subbed for over 10 years...so it wont be easy.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

Tito doesn't lay & pray, he drops elbows on fools.

He hasn't done much of that lately except for the Shamrock fights. The point I was trying to make is the last couple years Tito hasn't had the intensity and hunger anymore. If the old Ortiz shows up then were in for a good ass fight

What, drop elbows? You do know that he dropped mad elbows on Forrest, right? That was in 06. He also caved Ken Shamrock's face in with elbows. Again, that was in 06.

He used to drop elbows on fools, recently the only elbows he can drop are on a 40 year old man. It's actually to bad he's not the aggressive fighter he used to be.

Basically I think it will depend which of them decide to show up to fight. If Shogun comes out like he usually does I think he'll win, and if Tito comes out like he used to 4 years ago then he's got a good chance of winning. Personally I think it's much more probable that the real Shogun will return and Tito won't be much difference then his last fight with Rashad.
