Have you seen bj's win list? why would he be scared of sherk?
hell roid-boy wouldnt even be the toughes guy bj fought this year!!!!
why would he be scared? because bj's cardio is terrible and that's what sherk excels at...

sherk has very small, strong limbs, so that eliminates alot of submission options ...the only submission he could stop sherk w/ is a rear naked choke....triangles, armbars, guillotines, are very unlikely against sherk

bj's a hell of a fighter, but sherk is just a bad matchup for him i think. relentless pressure and he'll be fighting off his back against an amazing wrestler ....he'll be gassed within 2 rounds...

Thats not a reason for him to be scared and why he doesn't want to fight Sherk. That just shows why its a bad match up.

BJ penn doesn't seem to be scared, he's always been anti-roids.

If you think that BJ is scared you guys are nuts he will fight anyone anywhere. He has gone up in weight to fight top guys and has beat most of them. I can see why BJ doesnt want to fight Sherk he used roids and b/c of that he makes the sport look somewhat bad. Once BJ beats joe he will kill Sherk no doubt. BJ has very heavy hands and he has good stand up to back it up so he can stand up with him easy.

once BJ gets his hands on sherk he is going to kill sherk. he's gonna let all his anger out on him and spank him for being a cheater, a liar and a horrible ambassador for the sport.

BJ should just change it to "I won't fight him unless he passes blood test day of the fight."

I think that would be a little better. I hope he fights Sherk for sure.

GO WAND!

I agree. If they bothered to strip him of the belt (which I feel they should have), it means they think he did something wrong. And if he did something wrong, why reward him immediately with a title shot? I don't care how novice people think it sounds, Sherk IS a boring champion. Accept it!

It will be very hard for Sherk to take down BJ and I do not see it happening. BJ's cardio will be fine for these next couple fights I think. He has to fight Joe Daddy first though and Joe Daddy is certainly no pushover and is probably training harder than ever to get ready for this.

And what people tend to forget is that, though BJ's cardio might not be the best in the sport, it wasn't the reason he lost to Hughes, remember? He dislocated his rib. Why does everyone seem to forget that?

And I agree on Stevenson. He's a real threat and BJ should be taking him seriously.

Yeah, it was the beginning of the third round and BJ did not seem gassed at all, just injured. He has had problems with his gas tank in the past so I see why people are bringing it up but I think he has moved past that. I do not think he is going to be a Clay Guida or anything but his conditioning will be fine.
