Even though it is Canada's wrestling team it is still a great place for him to train and work on his wrestling. It is obviously working. Some of his takedown victims include KOS, Hughes, and Trigg and he has some of the best TD defense in mma. Could he beat any of those guys in a freestyle match? Probably not but who cares because they are fighters and his mma wrestling is as good as anyone's.

The boxer he is training with is Otis Grant(not sure of first name), he recently retired i think, but yeah he was ranked in the top 5(or top 10) in his weight class.

Also, the Canadian Olympic Team is not that bad.. But really, i think those credentials are worthless in MMA. It is a good indicator of how confortable he is, but it's about adapting those techniques into MMA that makes the difference.. Perfect example : Hendo vs Rampage. Hendo is an olympic wrestler, Rampage is a street brawler, yet the wrestling contest was rather even, if not to the advantage of Rampage.

GSP is about to explode...He's been there, done that (UFC Belt Holder) - and is now ready for another climb up that mountain - only this time I have a feeling he's going to stay in that belt for a lot, lot longer...there's just an 'eye of the tiger' about him these days - just that self-confident 'stalking' swagger in the octagon that you see sometimes and straight away you just KNOW - that this guy is 'in the zone' and it's gonna take something really special to beat him!

I never really liked GSP previously - never disliked him either. He was always 'just another fighter' to me - but the past few fights I have seen him in - it's been a different GSP to the one from several years back now - and I really like the changes!

I will be watching GSP with tremendous interest from hereon in and I fully expect him to put Matt Hughes away a lot easier than perhaps a lot of people might suspect!

And I have a funny feeling that for GSP - that win will be a stepping stone to much greater things....

No offense, but this really shouldn't be news to anyone. GSP has been training with the Olympic Team for years. His wrestling skills haven't just appeared out of thin air, they've been there for quite a while now.

Don't get me wrong, GSP has made a lot of changes in his training. I don't think he goes to Renzo's anymore, and he got rid of Vargotsky, but in the place of those two he moved to Jackson's. The wrestling is something that has been constant since he came into the UFC though.

He's said a lot of good europeean east-block wrestlers train in ther Canadian team. And we all know those guys are good wrestlers/olympic quality.
