I agree as well here. BJ was way ahead of Hughes and was making it look easy. He was also ahead against GSP. He needs to go to Big Bear and pick up a set on lungs after that he would be unstopable at 155 or 170. Right now he is #3 in the welter weights being Huges and GSP. HE could EASILY be the #1 lightweight though.

i have to agree with you jdun11, BJ is and always has been the most talented fighter in my eyes. The guy is amazing. His BJJ is unmatched in the UFC, his balance amazing (COuturre has problems taking him down in training), his flexibility is sick, his stand-up is pretty damn good, but his cardio is bad. His cardio only seems to be a problem at 170 though. If he drops back to 155 he will rule that division. Lil Evil pulled out a close decision against him when he was a much younger and less talented fighter. Pulver was in his prime too. I knew HUghes would win but I have always known and said how good BJ is.

5 Rounds has a little shameless behaviour in the past
reduced time to train

One thing that everyone is forgetting is that Bj got the call to fight Hughes pretty close to the fight. GSP backed out about 2 months before the fight leaving Bj with a reduced time to train hard. I thought bj looked a bit smaller than he did for his first encounter with Hughes, and Hughes looked like he was on steroids for this fight.

I'm not sure if you can bring your cardio to Matt's level in the time the UFC gave Bj to train for this fight but Bj is younger and if you give the proper time for a guy like Bj to fixate on his championship fight, will bring Hughes to school once again. 1 all folks!

I heard BJ Benn was slated to drop down to 155 He’d have to work hard to get down to 155, and I think it’ll be a problem for him since he admitted intense conditioning training burns him out. Great fight at 55’s for him would be someone like Hermes Franca. That would be an incredible fight, they’re fighting styles are actually a lot alike (sick BJJ and HEAVY hands) so it would be interesting.

BJ just has to start taking his training a little more serious, it’s obvious what he’s doing isn’t working. After evaluating his fight, he might think twice and take Tito up on his offer for his next fight.

i think bj deserves a 2nd chance, but only if and dana needs to stress this to him "GET IN SHAPE" he needs to be able to last 5 rounds and not be gassed by the third all the champions can go 5 rounds so their contenders need to be able to also bj is just one example
