I think GSP will win. But Hughes gaver BJ a beating and finished him and GSP didnt really do a whole lot of damage. So how was GSP so much better on the ground.

The only advantage Hughes will have is GSP will likely be tense in the first round against Hughes like he was against Penn. Nerves will get to you until you can shake them out. As long as GSP can survive the first 3 minutes of Hughes he'll win.
I politly disagree. I think GSP is the one fighter who can psychologically get past the nerves. I think Matt's advantage lies within his brute strength.

Matt Hughes may be built like a brick shit house but GSP is the tank that will plow right through it.

5. He is becomming overconfident - Most will disagree with me on this because Hughes seems to take everything in stride, but ever since TUF 2, he has gotten cockier, and cockier, and cockier. Cockiness is a symptom of overconfidence and it really showed in the BJ fight. Hughes got absolutly NOTHING accomplished untill BJ gassed. It really looked like this was gonna be it for Hughes up untill the third round

I agree GSP will dominate.

GSP is much stronger than Hughes. The only advantage Hughes has is his knowledge and experience. If GSP keeps his cool and doesn't make the big mistake then he will win handily.

I say GSP is stronger because he is longer and has about the same power. He will have an advange with leverage and that makes him stronger than Hughes. His stand-up, well, we all know how bad Matt's is so we don't really need to go there. Ground game=JJ goes to GSP. If GSP is on his back he better hope it is late in the round because he doesn't have enough offense from the guard to finish the fight (then again I haven't seen much of GSP on his back).

BJ dislocated his ribs. Thats the only reason hughes won. he was getting dominated hardcore. If the round hadn't ended in the second round he would've been armbarred. He would have avoided the choke and bj would have arm barred him.

I agree St. Pierre is stronger on the ground then Hughes! I also agree that Matt is getting cockier by the second! Soon he will get too overconfident and it will get him into a lot of trouble!

He won the fight on the ground, and he does listen to his corner, watch the entire fight.

Who cares what he says? He still gets his job done, and for being so predictable he continues to win fights.

This is the only one that makes sense.

How do you know he's becoming overconfident? His last fight was 2 days ago and he WON IT. Hughes is always confident, that's how he has been his entire career, he didnt all of a sudden get confidence.

Now, regardless, I believe GSP will beat him, but not for the reasons you just typed.
