what fight did u watch? Matt Hughes actually got out of the submission hold 5 seconds before the bell rang. BJ Penn fans are the biggest sore losers i've ever seen.

He is easy to get into a submission?

Im pretty sure Hughes just beat Royce Gracie AND BJ Penn who are considered the best submission fighters in the world.

So ya i guess your right GSP who i believe if anything JUST got brown/black belt in Jiu Jitsu sure must be better then one of the founders of BJJ and another one of the best BJJ fighters in the world.
you're right they are pretty stupid, matt hughes has of the most impressive records in mma and he consistently wins and these keyboard warriors are saying he isnt very skilled. There is a reason he is the #2 pound for pound fighter on the planet.

Either way we are looking at a great fight - If you look back to the first fight GSP gave Hughes all he could handle in the first round and then somehow got submitted with the arm bar. Hopefully this fight will go a few more rounds.

very good points and yes i thought gsp was going to win the fight before i read this. we saw how effective stand up was on hughes and you can bet gsp saw that and will try to keep it on his feet. all gsp needs it the conditioning to last five and in the stand up hes got hughes beat.

what i know i always seem to pick the underdog and actuly think hes going to do it. penn, sobral, bonnar im on a losing streak =(

go gsp karate is a great foundation!!!!!! *thats because i took it when i was little 6 years old to 12 i wanted to be a power ranger damit!!*

There's no doubt that this will be an exciting fight, but I can't believe what i'm reading...how can so many people under estimate Matt Hughes? Although he is kind of a one trick pony with his classic 'take 'em down hard, then ground and pound the $hit outta them' he is ALWAYS one take down away from potentially ending the fight. While I agree that St. Pierre's stand up is far superior to Matt's, I think if Hughes can gain top position on the ground then GSP could be in for a world of hurt. Just my $0.02.
That said, can't wait to see this fight go down! GO GEORGES ST. PIERRE!!!!!!

I've watched the fight, and that exact part of the fight multiple times, Hughes did not escape, he was saved by the bell. He may have escaped the choke, but thats because Penn was going for the arm. Penn lost the fight, injury or not, its still a loss. It's like losing by cut, it sucks, but the other person injured you enough where you couldnt fight. Hughes fans don't want to admit that Penn could have easily took that fight. There will be a third fight, but I think that Penn should just go down to 155 where he belongs. He wants to be a dominant fighter, and he has a better chance there.

I'm so tired of the "COULD OF" "WOULD OF" "SHOULD OF" posts! That is fighting, Just win. Doesn't have to be pretty, just get the W!!! And Hughes seem to do that.........alot.
