Let's look at each set of division matchups, just so that we're clear on exactly how batsh*t crazy Gary Shaw is.

In this division, Kimbo is by far EXC's most publicized fighter, though I think Tank is better. Still, if Gary's going to call Kimbo the king of their heavyweight division, then let's see possible heavyweight matchups.

Kimbo vs. Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera

Kimbo vs. Tim Sylvia

Kimbo vs. Brandon Vera

Kimbo vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

Kimbo vs. Cheick Kongo

I'll just stop there, since we are talking about a guy who got DESTROYED by Sean Gannon.

I like Kimbo, but he'd get killed. Hell, Fabiano Scherner would probably have a field day with him.

There are going to be guys who say that Antonio Silva is the top guy in the EXC division, and I would actually agree with that, though he doesn't get the same kind of publicity as Kimbo. Personally, I think he'd get killed by any of the afformentioned except, perhaps, Kongo, if he managed to take that fight to the ground. (if he stood with Kongo, he'd be demolished)

The UFC roster is so dominant in this division, it's not really worth mentioning for me. Shamrock is considered the toughest guy in this division, and I see him getting killed by the current division, even guys that seem as washed up as Wanderlei Silva.

Frank was a great fighter for a long time, and I still think he's a serious warrior, but I see him getting killed by any of the guys in contention at 205.

I don't know about Robbie Lawler. He's been impressive lately, but Anderson Silva is a wrecking ball and I'm not convinced that Robbie can beat even guys like Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami, much less Anderson.

Still, I could be wrong about that, and I'd like to see a few more fights from each of them before I call that one.

Another boringly one-sided division.

St. Pierre, Hughes, Koscheck, Sanchez, Parisyan, Serra...

All of those guys would go to town on the EXC roster. Serra's got a better submission game than any of them, and I think that any of the other guys would just demolish them.

I like Noons, but come on. If KJ Noons fought BJ Penn?!?

It'd be like watching Ernesto Hoost fight a retarded gorilla.

Sherk has slammed punching bags scarier than Noons.

The rest of the pack in that 155 pound division makes me feel similarly. Even guys like Kurt Pellegrino, in my opinion, could make an interesting fight with Noons, while a really tough guy like Joe Stevenson or Kenny Florian, with that kind of well-rounded skill, would just kill him.

Frankly, I agree that Gary Shaw should shut his mouth. He's improving his league but he's still not on the same level as the UFC, and I think everybody in the sport (including the guys on his roster) knows that.

I dont think we are giving EliteXC enough credit. Antonio Silva is a very skilled HW. Future top 10 fighter for sure. MW you got Lawler and Frank. Lawler is a top 10 MW and would be a dangerous fight for anyone in the UFC. Frank may not be top 10, but showed against Baroni that he can still scrap. At WW, Shields is a monster. Not as good as GSP, but a solid WW fighter. KJ Noons and Nick Diaz are both real tough guys. Noons is a great striker with good TDD, he could pose problems for guys like BJ and Sherk if they couldnt get the fight to the ground. Nick Diaz has proven he can fight with anyone at 155 and 170 and is known to put on a great show. Does EliteXc have as good of fighters as the UFC?? No, the UFC has alot more depth and is better in overall. But Sheilds, Lawler, Noons, Diaz, Silva, and Shamrock could all compete in the UFC. Could they be title holders?? Probably not, but its MMA who knows anymore.

Shaw is correct when he says "They donít own MMA. They donít own the space. They have a brand."

The NFL doesn't own football; nor does MLB own baseball; nor the NBA basketball nor the NHL hockey. There are other professional leagues in all of those sports.

I think most people refer to them as the minor leagues.

I suspect Shaw's motivation for the comments was to generate publicity.

Given the fact there is a thread discussing the comments; he just might have succeeded.

Scratch Sanchez's name and put in Fitch's since Fitch beat Sanchez.
