What if Brock...

despite all the NCAA wrestling credentials, what if faked the takedown and threw a big right hand...?

I thought about this earlier, that Mir has got to be knowing he's going to be on his back for this fight, and he's going to be expecting a shot from Brock for sure....and if Lesnar is training in Minnesota w/ Sherk and those guys who are pretty good at combination takedowns, why not have a gameplan ready to throw a bomb early in the fight. Mir has pretty bad standup, so even if he eats a shot, it won't really do much....

just a thought I had

it wouldn't suprise me if brock decides to stand in this fight. he must know that mir has terrible standup and gases easy, plus the fact that mirs best chance of winning is on the ground.

<--- the punch that started it all!

My current favirote fighters
Anderson Silva
Junior Dos Santos
Mauricio Rua
Alistair Overeem
Jon Jones

WAR dan hardy, paul daley, ross pearson and terry etim doing it for the britz!

but then again is a wrestler ever really good at stand up?

The most solid advice I can give to anyone who fights BJ Penn is...do not motivate the guy. Lets face it, BJ although talented, is naturally lazy. Your job is to NOT convince him to step on that treadmill.

When BJ came out against Kos he was introduced as a wrestler

But seriously a couple wrestlers do have good stand up. Pulver, Anderson, Couture (he isn't going to knock you out but he knows how to throw the combo's).

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Liddel

BJ hasn't fought Kos?

I could see it happening but I could also see it happening, Brock misses, gets taken down and it's all downhill from there.

pulver had a very mediocore wrestling career....not to mention i think we all consider him a striker now adays

anderson? silva? wrestler? huh

couture you made your point on that one although his striking is nothing to call home about he still is above average

and yes chucky is a wrestler....but lets face it now adays his a stiker with a great sprawl

perhaps you took wut i said to literal....my point was more for the brocks, the hughes, the frank triggs, the titos

guys that today are still considered wrestling and to be honest arnt the best strikers....

now there is one where you got me on which was couture and i agree and apologize....i was surprised you left out joe daddy tho

Brock will have poor stand up but looking at the size of him, if he connects, it could be lights out for Mir.
