Anyone else catch the UFC 81 countdown?

I just watched it, and I've got to say I'm really confident in my picks.

Frank Mir's striking looks much better than it has in the past (especially compared to Lesnar's loopy punches), and he's training with a world-class wrestler, similar in build to Lesnar. I also think Frank's fighting attitude is much better than Brock's, as Brock Lesnar repeatedly says he "doesn't care" about Frank's BJJ, when I think he should be more concerned about that than anything.

I'm also really confident in picking Nogueira over Sylvia. Nogueira's training his stand-up with Anderson at Black House, he's spending more time on his wrestling (thank God!) and he looked in incredible shape, working like a beast. Tim will obviously come in shape to fight 5 rounds, but his training really looked tame compared to Nog's, his stand-up looked sloppy even in sparring too.

This card's going to be great, I can't wait.

What did you guys think?

There is definently a difference in intelligance between Lesnar and Mir. Lesnar was like "I sweated alot" and kept saying things like that.

lesnar looks like hes taken a few to many roids, that guys head is the size of a basketball. but I agree i think mir takes this one he is obviously more well rounded and i think his experience will be too much for brock to handle. even if you do train as hard as they are saying lesnar is, your not gonna learn if your not fighting top competetion.
as for nog sylvia, that one is tough. of course im cheering for nog but sylvia just seems to have a skill at pulling out decisions

I'm liking that Nog said he has refocused himself.

We hear the same BS from Tim everytime in the pre-hype...."it's gonna be a new aggressive Tim Sylvia"...fu#king bull...

I'm glad I'm taking Nog, he really surprised me w/ his athleticism...something I never really thought he had a ton of

I'm still confident in Lesnar. Frankly, I'm more confident. Frank can spar with a 200lb wrestler like that dude all he wants, I think he will feel something new in the octagon, and I don't think he's going to be prepared for it.

I sure hope you're right, dude. I have this weird feeling something completely unexpected is going to happen though, like Lesnar by armbar or Sylvia by rear naked choke or something. I'm not sure who I want to win more, Mir or Nog. If they lose, they lose, but I sure hope it ain't by Lesnar submitting Mir or Sylvia submitting Nog.

I was really impressed with Nogueira's weight training and Mir's commitment/mind set. Frank really knows the game and he's found his fire again after that accident.

Nog slamming that 45 pound plate into the mat was awesome.

My picks have changed after watching the countdown show. Lesnar doesn't seem to have a care in the world, and I think his carelessness and lack of respect for Mir's ground game is gonna have him caught in a submission. I thought Lesnar was gonna put him on his back and grind him out, but I can't see that happening now. Frank Mir by submission in the first or second.

Nogeuira's fitness seems to have changed drastically since the Herring fight, and I think he's going to be durable enough to shut Sylvia down in the later rounds. I don't know if he'll finish him, but I've gotta go with Nogeuira based on how improved and sharp he looks. Nogeuira's training partners are also much better than Sylvia's.

I'm excited as hell for the card too man.

Nogueira also mentioned that he wasn't in the best shape going into the Herring fight.
