The only person who was succesfully able to take Sylvia down was Couture. Couture is a friggin animal and Timmy was not himself in that fight.

If Tim is such a bad fighter than how come he is fighting for his 3rd HW title tommorrow night?
sorry bud, i never meant to say that tim sylvia is a bad fighter, im just saying brock would be a good match up against him, im not even close to a lesnar ball hugger so to speak, but dont compare his take downs to monson (5'9), all i was saying is that mir has a better chance at being lesnar then tim sylvia would (no biased opinion because of mirs win over sylvia) but you have to admit, lesnar is strong and his main aspect is take down and ground and pound, where as sylvias main aspect is standing and KO's but lately decisions because hes a more careful fighter, sylvia is a excellent fighter whos capable of subbing lesnar, if it goes past the 2nd round, sure, lesnar, only one fight, dont know of his chin or endurance against a large opponent, but i stick with my decision

mir > lesnar > sylvia

I would love to see a sylvia/mir rematch, but big nog, depending on his shape, will take sylvia, nog > lesnar and quite possibly > mir, this is all hearsay, take it with a grain of salt because it is just my opinion

exactly what it is, a 19 year old pot heads opinion, but i assume there are alot of people that would agree with my post.

i hate how people talk about how monson couldnt take sylvia down as if it was some great feat by sylvia, you had a guy 6 8 defending takedowns from a guy who is 5 8 ... and who was shooting in from 10 ft away, monson had no buisness to be in there with tim

The "feat" refers to the act of getting in range, getting the TD, and then pounding Tim Sylvia out. Last I checked, that would meet the qualifications needed to be labeled a feat. And just like you said, it's a guy who is 6'8" defending a TD - it WILL be a feat to take him down. Who has managed to do it recently besides Randy?

I've read some threads here about people complaining about his commentary in EliteXC or something, he sounds very well spoken to me and I enjoy what he has to say.

I also liked what Brock had to say, he wasn't as cocky as he was in the Countdown video and is really treating this opportunity with respect.
Mir is a commentator for the WEC.

I've liked listening to Mir on WEC. He could help Rogan point out submissions. Message to Rogan, "not every attempt to hold on to a position is an omoplata"

That being said...Mir has a good voice, definately knows the ins and outs of MMA, and is intelligent enough to be a great commentator.

It would also be good for him to be a commentator if he wins tomorrow night and begins his climb back towards the top.

Mir is an excellent commentator IMO, I enjoy hearing him commentate in WEC and I think he would be a great addition to the booth in UFC. I like hearing from guys who can give an educated opinion on the action during the fight because they have experience in the octagon ( I dont mind Rogan and Goldie but sometimes I just want them to shut the **** up )

Who would the WEC have to replace him or who would you like to see the WEC replace him with?
