Im disappointed that Couture didnt choose to fight Nogueira. Would have been a dream match i guess. Maybe if Nogueira wins the belt, then he might choose fight him.

Randy needs to come off his high horse and realize that fighting Nogueira is not beneath him.

If Randy wants to sit out his contract I think that's his business and Dana shouldn't be telling him to be a man. But w/e Randy wants Fedor so he's going to wait to fight Fedor.

Also mlsman I don't think Randy thinks Nogueira is beneath him but I think he knows he doesn't have many fights left and Fedor is the guy in MMA. So to fight anyone else could basically cost Couture a chance to ever fight Fedor and I don't think Randy wants to risk his shot at an undefeated HW who some think is unbeatable.

But then again, if Randy has a few fights left and only wants to fight the best, why can't he fight someone else who is ranked above him? Based on logic, Randy should be wanting to fight Nog, Barnett, and Fedor, because all of them are Ranked higher or considered to be better.

I see both sides, but Nog has been completely dissed in this whole ordeal.

But wouldn't that mean he thinks that a fight with Nog is beneath him? He has stated that the only fight left for him is Fedor and like you said he only has a couple of fights left. So after Fedor who does he fight? Nog is ranked above him and I know rankings don't mean much, but if you want to say you beat the best, why would you not want to beat the guy ranked #2?

Edit: KDS beat me to it, but we have pretty much the same points.

Randy said on HDnet that Dana was going to offer him the winner of Silvia/Werdum. He also said that is is unlikely that he will take that fight.

Dude its not like one fight between now and then is gonna destroy him. its age thats at randy only thing that will effect him fighting fedor is when he does it not what takes place inbetween now and then. Training will get him in shape and its not like he has to cut ne weight or nething so all ha has to do is come in with a gameplan. The only deterrent of Randy fighting is if he believes he could lose so i agree with danas sentiments on it all

It would have been much less hassle for Randy Couture to just have fought the 2 more fights and been done with the contract istead of this nonsense. He could've had his last fight coming up shortly.
