He did if you actually watched the fight and not just looked at the result (not saying you haven't seen the fight).
Just because the fight was overturned, that doesn't erase what happened that night. Gomi tapped out, Diaz proved he was better.
Thats the reality, it may not be a offical win, but is that all that matters? You think Gomi is proud of his "win"? You think Gomi doesn't know that he got beat that night?

First, Gomi isn't proud of his "win", because it was ruled a No Contest.
Second, lets throw aside the Gomi "win" for Diaz and look at what he's done since then. He was given a gift Split Decision win over Aina, where he looked absolutely awful. And next, he lost to KJ Noons and again, looked absolutely awful. Diaz is nowhere near the Top 10 with or without a "win" over Gomi.

I'd say KJ Noons deserves to be on the top ten more then Nick Diaz. KJ made Diaz look like an amature in that fight!

Gomi hasn't even fought since then, which is why I've dropped him in my Rankings. But if you're arguing he should be out of the Top 10 too because of a loss to Diaz and then inaction, you're crazy. Just look at their resume's and its clear cut, Gomi > Diaz as far as Rankings go.

I think both arguments have merit, but i have an issue with something.
You say Diaz didn't really win because it was a NC, but when he does win with a gift decision in your mind, you discount that too? If you're going off offical wins and losses, then there shouldn't be any room for interpretation of those wins. Offically speaking, Diaz beat Aina, regardless of your feelings on the outcome. You should not be able to use that fight against him.

There are several things you have to take into account...who the guy his fighting (is he better or worse), how he looks in that fight, and the official win/loss. It would be impossible to just go off wins/losses when you rank people because then guys who fight in smaller org's and amass undefeated records would fill up the Rankings even though they have no merit being there.
I did drop Gomi because of how bad he looked against Diaz AND his inactivity. But I find it hard to give Nick credit for the "win" because:
1. He's a dumbass and couldn't lay off the bong. You're a professional athlete...time to start acting like it.
and...
2. He's looked awful in the two fights since then, both against guys he should have beat.
Had he beat Aina handily and whooped up on KJ Noons, then considering him for the Top 10 would be feasible (although I still wouldn't because he's lost every big fight he's been in save Lytle, Lawler, and Fickett). Gomi, on the other hand, was the consensus #1 fighter, so he's not gonna just drop out of the Rankings, but he shouldn't really be #1 in anyone's Rankings anymore.
I think Gomi should be dropping in everyone's Rankings and Diaz should have no place in anyone's either.
