Rankings are based on wins/losses, not your personal opinion about a fighters skill, that's what I think

So why did Tim Sylvia move up in our rankings even though he lost? It had something to do with his great showing against NOG, also the fact that there are some inactive Hws. But I KNOW I ******* KNOW that if NOG had beat the shit out of Tim, HE WOULD NOT BE RANKED #3 right now like HE IS.
So you can't say its based solely on W/L.

If it makes you feel any better I had Nick in the top 10 before the fight was ruled a no contest. The NC though and the fact that he got whooped by Noons though should knock him out. That means he has one win at LW against a veritable nobody.

You can argue till the cows come home about Diaz being Top 10, but he should not be there. I'll give you the Gomi win, and he still shouldn't be there. You know why? He's lost every big name fight he's been in. I'll give you wins against Lytle, Lawler, Fickett and Gomi...but he has lost against Jackson, Hironaka, Karo, Diego, Diesel, Sherk, and Noons and looked awful against Aina.
So how does that equal Top 10 material?
Gomi on the other hand: losses to BJ, Aurelio, and Hansen (two of those being Top 10 fighters at the time and the other he avenged his loss). Then he has wins against Kawajiri, Ishida, Pulver, Sakurai, Azeredo, Mishima, Bennett, Sato, and Palling.
Now THAT is Top 10 Material.

As long as Gonzaga remains ranked, you can argue for Diaz.

Gonzaga wasn't caught with illegal substances in his system like Diaz. Also, he didn't lose to an unranked fighter like Diaz just recently did.

No, you can't, since Gonzaga beat a legit top 10 fighter in Cro Cop. Diaz vs Gomi was a NC, so it doesn't count.

This should end the discussion right there. I dont know how you can keep arguing past that.
