i say if but, i feel that he WILL win. Anyway, what is next for him if/when he beats hendo? a move to LHW to be an under sized fighter? Fighting guys like Page and H. Alexander? i know what i would like to see. GSP(If/when he gets his belt back) vs. A. Silva We all know GSP walks around at about 200 pounds and cuts all the way down to 170. It would be an easy cut for him to 185, Anderson would look like a cancer patient at 170. IMO GSP and A. Silva are two of the TOP fighters in the World. most exciting, athletic and entertaining fighters. BEST ALL AROUND FIGHTERS i should say. With noone else for him to fight in his own division i see this as the only and smartest move for him. Not to LHW like we've been reading lately. I think it would be an incredible fight, i know i would jump around like a little kid at christmas if the UFC put that fight together. What do you guys think?

That would look nice!
I'd love to see GSP v ASilva, but it looks like GSP will stay at WW for a time... Champ v Champ (after Georges takes his belt back) would be cooooool

Unfortunately I see anderson Koing GSP. :( reach advantage, size difference, better striking x_X

might be a good fight, but i dont wanna see another fight where GSP is utterly destroyed.

Totally disagree but thats why they fight...i would love to see it dont know if Dana would let it happen but if it does I cant see Silva taking the fight to the ground and while Anderson is a an excellent striker I believe GSP's stand up is better...NEVER underestimate GSP...:confused03:As far as Danny goes, I actually see him winning this fight and am very excited to see it...

You're acting like there's no one left at MW. Guys like Almeida, Marquardt (A rematch would be interesting and I think nate would still have a chance), Leites, Kampmann, Cote, Belcher and others. I'm not saying they'll beat Anderson Silva, but there are some fighters who could be decent contenders.

i do not see anyone right now in MW division that can take A. Silva...sorry just my opinion. For the weight cut thing, i'd say have GSP go to 185 because they both cut from 200...GSP just cuts more. IMO it would be Fight of the year to say the least!!!... with GSP winning late by TKO or go all the way winning by SD. I definately think anderson would rock him, hurt him, whatever, i just wanna see what kind of war those two would go through

If Silva does beat Hendo then he doesn't really have much left to do at MW. There are some guys that are good fighters left but he would have already beat the best.

I love GSP but I don't like his chances against Silva. One of GSP's biggest advantages is pure athleticism, which translates for me as meaning that he is just bigger, stronger, and faster than almost everyone else at WW. Is he bigger and stronger than Silva? I don't think so. GSP cuts a lot of weight but he'd finally be fighting a guy at least his size and maybe a little bigger and stronger. I'd think he have a hard time. He could win but I'd put my money on Silva.

I still don’t understand why people actually think GSP would have a chance against Anderson Silva, if he gets past Hendo how could you think GSP (who fights at 170) could beat a fighter who just (hypothetically) beat one of the best 205 pounders in the world?

I think GSP is one of the best fighters pound for pound on the planet but Silva can do things GSP can’t and it’s those unique skills that make him so difficult to beat.

I think that Hendo has the style to beat Silva but if he loses I don’t see GSP bringing anything more that would give him a “W”.

Silva has such accurate powerful strikes, not just punches but his leg kicks and knees he can KO you in just one blow and once in his MT clinch you better be able to break quick otherwise you will either sustain lots of damage or be KOd. Silva’s range coupled with his striking would prevent GSP from doing much. Hell PJ Penn (who is now a lightweight) took it to GSP standing up.

A fight with Anderson Silva is not a good idea for GSP. Not only has he got enough competition in the Welterweight division to last him a good while if he wins the belt, but I think that Anderson Silva matches up very well against GSP. Size, reach, superior striking, more advanced BJJ/ground game and more experience. I hate to say it but GSP would probably get beated bad.

Almeida's a Renzo Gracie blackbelt, and I'm not saying Anderson's BJJ is ineffective, but Almeida's is on another level. The guy is so technical, he pulls off things perfectly. I'd say that he's a top 3 BJJ fighter in MMA. They are far from equal on the ground.

Also, Almeida already beat Marquardt, and I think he could do it again if they fought. Ricardo looked really, really good in his comeback fight, looking like he hasn't missed a day of training.

I think you might be over rating Almeida a bit Damone. I think my boy Kampmann would pick him apart standing, and win the decision by nullifying the ground game.

It'd be a nice come back fight for him.

GSP V Silva would be fun, but I don't think these guys will run completly through there division where they have to fight somebody. Someone will always be there to challenge them.
