I was listening to Beatdown and they kept saying that the WWE could buy the UFC?:sign04: Did I miss something? When did this rumor come out? Hopefully its not true because I can see McMahon destroying the UFC if he ever got a hold of it?

last i heard vince mcmahon was worth a little less than a billion, and most of that money was from his assets. i doubt the fertila brothers would sell up, ufc is hotter than ever and its fanbase is growing by the day. the only time i see the ufc being sold is if dana fucks things up so bad that they almost go bankrupt (and with all these contract obligations, it may happen)

That would be a step backwards for the sport.....Being bought out by a fake wrestling company:(

:confused02:

They would be bought out by a brilliant business man. They are and entertainment company....Depending on what McMahon did with the company would decide if it was a step backward. It would be just as legit as some casino owners buying the company. I am not a WWE fan, but it cracks me up how many people make stupid comments about wrestling being fake. Well no sh!t. It isn't supposed to be real. It is entertainment to a certain demographic. Just like UFC, and MMA in general are.

I am curious if it was said that the UFC is going to buy them out, or if it was said that they could buy them. I have a feeling that this post was made because of someone taking something that was said and twisting it.

Everything is for sale ! Don't kid yourself is the right organization came with the right dollar amount it would be sold. This is the best time to sell a company if you know anything about business. All the FREE press coverage about it being the fastest rising sport, the contract disputes make for good reading. When do you sell a company while its still rising but before others start to make a dent in your revenue. UFC won't have their domainance forever the will probably be the top dog for a while but things are in the works for other companies and tv. Does the UFC have more cash and resources than CBS? All I'm saying this is the perfect time to sell.

elevation match? over the room of death built by barbed wire and rusty nails? electrified fence? one man armed with an electric weed whacker and the other armed with a 2-stroke, gas powered weed whacker? the ref is on a 4 speed, easy turn riding lawn mower? PASS!!!

The problem with the XFL wasn't McMahon, it was the NFL. A lot of the XFL production (camera work and graphics) was lifted by the NFL.

That is in no way an endorsement of WWE buying the UFC.

The novelty matches you could have would be fun as hell. Royal Rumble, 2 vs 2.

As fun as it would breifly be, i hope it never happens....and it wont. MMA is a legit sport, wrestling is just stupid.

ok i am against this 100% but just because the wwe wants to be the ufc doesnt mean it is gonan turn into the wwe. as much as people hate vince mcmahon the guy is one of teh greatest buisness men ever and he would not change the way it is ran. the ufc would never become the wwe and nor would vince want it to. if vince bought the ufc he would not change it and it would just be ran by different people who would never turn it into entertainment like the wwe is

hmm talking of gimmick matches, imagine if vince came out and announced "for the first time ever your going to see chuck liddell vs tito ortiz in a... CAGE MATCH!!!" the fans would go wild.
