I think that both Killer instinct and Storm442 hit the nail on the head. With all the new organizations out there the competition is getting watered down. Its like expansion in any other sport. The more teams you have the lower quality product you put on the field.
Also with a very stacked LW divison right now the UFC needs to keep hyping that up and get a solid core of fighters and some good prospects before they even consider a 145 division.
Right now the LW division is arguably the best/most exciting division in the UFC top to bottom. Let that ride for a while before they dismantle it.

Agreed. Now if they just would have held a tournament to decide the belt holder, I'd be in heaven !!

Yeah, you're right. I think quite a few new faces in the UFC would drop down to 145 if they had the opportunity. I'm just saying, MMA is really taking off right now and there are going to be a looot of new faces in the UFC. It doesn't have to be soon, but eventually they're gonna have to make new divisons fo the massive influx of new talent that'll be coming in over the next couple of years.

yeah no shit..ken flo and the muscle shark for the belt..makes me wanna drop down to 155 if its that easy to get a belt..i wouldnt mind seeing a 145 div..i guess im bias tho cuz my muay thai coach is that size naturally..and one of the other coaches at my school that competes in mma MIKE "THE HULK" EASTON is a natural 145 lb fighter..and i think he is hoping they start that division..mike would probably fight in the 155 tho if 145 never happens..and im pretty sure he can beat ken flo and sherk..so look out for him

I agree with what you're saying about it possibly weakening the Lightweight division. But in a year or so, they will be able to adjust better. Fighters like Guillard, Stevenson, Sherk, Fisher, Stout, Florian, Alves (if he moves down), Diaz (if he moves down) will all be more comfortable at 155. And that's a pretty decent list of fighters for a division, not counting all the up and comers over the course of this next year. And fighters like Lauzon, Edwards, Hominick, Griffin, Dent, Curran (if he ever signs with UFC), possibly even Pulver might be more comfortable at 145. And that too is a pretty nice lookin list of fighters. Give it a year or so I say and it will be feezable.

I also thought Pulver would do well in that division. He's not overly big for a 55er, I don't think he'd have much problems moving down.
