I moved this quote from my other thread.

I put coleman on the list because someone on the other thread had mentioned him and I don't know how many other people would vote for him.

I don't think that Shamrock was dominant in the UFC, and that was my intended topic, but yeah, he was (and may still be) a force in MMA for a long time.

iron man shamrock was very dominant not just in ufc but all over the world he dominted pride and even managed to defeat the first set of hybrid fighters. there was this one fighter who had studied many styles he took out all the like 4 of the graices one after the other proving that mma was far better than enyone style it was shamrock who was the only fighter able to stand up and fight him the fight was a very close fight. and went to the judges score cards shamrock lost to split decition but sayin he was not dominant is a bit silly he has accompished so mutch in his carrer he desurves to be on the list

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Ken Shamrock has done more for MMA than anyone else I can think of, but he was not as much of a force in the UFC as Royce Gracie or the modern heavyweight champs (Sylvia and Andrei) and he didn't bring in the same recognition or put on as good of a show as Tank. He didn't last as long against Gracie Jiu-jitsu as Kimo.

I'm not saying that he's not a better fighter than all of these guys, just that in his UFC carreer he wasn't as succesful. I say this because he never held a heavyweight title like: Couture, Sylvia or Arlovski.

If we were asking the question who is the greatest heavyweight of all time (which I think is a thread in the general forum) then Ken Shamrock would definitely be towards the top of my list, but not in the UFC.

i said AA because i haven't seen bas fight and ken and tank aren't even close.
but i didn't think randy would have been a big enough heavyweight to take out AA with his great striking and grappling skills

Mac Danzig and his bird feeder once visited the Virgin Islands. They are now The Islands.
Mac Danzig can kill two fighters with one bird feeder.
Superman owns a pair of Mac Danzig bird feeder pajamas.

You're right, but he was the first man to be both the heavyweight and lightheavyweight champion (though I'm pretty sure that it wasn't at the same time). His striking wouldn't compete with Arlovski or Sylvia.
