UFC Will Out Grow Pride

I know that the UFC is not the largest in MMA Promotions, but I believe that with a small amount of time the UFC will over take Pride and continue to grow.

It may happen I guess. Its getting bigger and bigger with every PPV and its getting much more well knowned in the media, but im getting sick of people debating which organization is better (not that you are). People need to understand that its all MMA and that its all entertaining to watch. I like both Pride and UFC i am just much more knowlegable when it come to UFC. All MMA kicks ass regaurdless of the organization.

You are correct, this is not a thread of which is better. I would love to see them both continue to grow. But I just feel that the UFC is going to grow faster than the Pride Organization. It seems to be on a downward slide right now while the UFC is bursting at the seams.

Well I don't see how you can disagree. The Pride Fighting has lost a lot of sponsors after being tied to the Japanese Mafia and the UFC is taking off like never before. I just see it as the natural course of things.

Well in the U.S.A. UFC of course is the dominate MMA orgainization. The last big main stream of new fans to MMA was from the Ulitimate Fighter series that sparked all these new fans. The average fan that was turned onto MMA due to TUF doesnt even know about Pride really. The only set back I see for Pride is that to become more popular among Americans they must come to the U.S.A. more. The thing is when they have an event like in Vegas or wherever it is not the real Pride everyone is seeing. They alter the rules because Pride's rules from Japan will not fly here in the USA. Thus we are seeing a whole different product of Prides when they come to the states. So it kind of puts Pride in a weird spot. If UFC and Pride were to get their crap together and do some cross fighting it'd be great for both organizations as well as give us some dream matches. I think thats one reason Dana seems a little skeptical as he does not want his big fan base being exposed to Pride.

I'm sure that we all agree that to see them start cross fighting would be FANTASIC!!!

I was so bummed when I found out that Liddell-Siliva was canceled.

The UFC will outgrow Pride simple because they have more room to grow. Pride is already big and mainstream in Japan so there is no place for them to go there other than down. UFC is exploding in the US and Canada which is a much bigger and more profitable market than Japan. Once UFC hits mainstream status in the US than its game over and they will be the biggest in the world.

i dont really see how having events here is going to help them at all..we wont see the usual show we are used too..and i dont know aht difference it makes if you are ordering a ppv..whether or not it takes place in japan or the u.s. isnt going to make a difference to someone sitting on there couch..i just dont see how it helps pride...i think the best think they could do..and its kinda melodramatic..and maybe a even a little wwe even..but sakibara should just grab a couple of fighters...like fedor cro cop maybe shogun or wand..just some guys that the hard core fans know..buy some tickets to a ufc event..prefferably in the front row somewhere, where the cameras cant miss them..and if they have a belt it should be over their shoulder..they could maybe even talk some shit..sometimes you gotta pick a fight...

thats what i would do if i was the owner of pride..id make sure my fighters were outside in the casino signing autographs and taking pics..alot of people wouldnt know who they were but enough would to draw a crowd..when i went to ufc 57 i saw josh barnett satnding over in a corner..and no one approached him..when me and my girl went over to get a pic with him he was shocked..he was like "YEAH ill take a pic"..he used to be the champ..people just forget..sakibara just needs to get these guys exposure through the ufc somehow..i gaurentee you alot of people didnt know who wand was and had no idea about pride until dana brought him into the cage to challenge chuck..that was the best move pride ever made and dana fed right into it..and you could tell chuck had no idea it was coming....he looked real nervous..and i bet he chewed dana out for springing it on him..
