Machida has only beaten two studs, Sokky very recently and Franklin 4-1/2 years ago. He's a stud for sure, but he needs to beat some top level competition to make number two on my list. I'm not really sure how much a win over Tito will help him in that area.

people are rating him where they think he could be rather then what hes accomplished imo, a win over tito will push him into a solid top 5 position though, he hasnt really had the oppurtunity to face top competition yet

I wondered about that. I edited my rankings after the Dream 2 event seeing as though rankings were still being added to the countup thread. Dropped Calvancanti two places and raised Aoki by two.

Good question, I'm not sure. I put Chuck and Hendo over him, but they both have a couple recent losses that kept a lot of people from voting them higher. Of course their losses came against much higher level competition than Machida has faced in the last few years, with the exception of Sokky. Rankings are subjective, I still think our rankings as an average are stellar.

I think the HW rankings are messed up!

its ridiculous that Randy is 7th due to inactivity yet fedor 2nd despite fighting freakshows (man-choi) and opponents multiple weight classes below him(lindland). a win over sylvia and this position would be justified tho.

barnetts 5th and hes been more inactive than randy over the last while!

you probably guessed im a big randy fan but surely this ranking is way off.

i think sherk is still the best P4P fighter in the lightweight devision ever

hes only had 2 fights in the last 2 years, so its understandable where he is and it could easily be argued that he should be lower. Also unlike the HW division where fedor and barnett can keep there spots due to a lack of top fighters the LW division is stacked with great fighters so its harder to keep a spot.

Im gonna go back to the thread to see who the hell left out Koscheck. I hate the guy, but im not gonna deny that he shouldn't be in the top 10 WW.
